Will hate crimes ever stop?

Whenever I hear of something like this, it just gets me depressed. A 19 year old, transgendered black man was killed here in my area. Some people don't think ridicule is enough. They have to go even further and do something like this. I can't imagine how someone can have that much hate. His mother had this to say: ""I'm really outraged and I'm angry. I know my child was gay and that's OK. But to let this crime go unpunished is unfair to me."

Poor boy.

I personaly hope it never happens again, but I know that it will. The only way to get this shit stopped is by completely changing our views on sexuality as a whole and by objectively educating children about homosexulity in schools - that would reach the core of the problem. Hate is just a cause of ignorance and fear. Maybe it would be different if people knew more about the subject, before they start with their prejudice.

my gal became a victim of hate crime recently.. i thank god everyday that her buds came just in time to save her life.. after a month of hospitalization.. she finally got discharged 4 days ago.. in addition to her weakened condition.. she now has a cold.. and she now has major catching up to do in her college courses..

3 of the guys who nearly killed her will be rotting in jail for 15 yrs.. but the 4th one never got caught.. ::sigh:: this wasn't the first time they attacked her.. the difference this time was.. they went way too far..

I'm really sorry about that, jENytATy. At least three of them are going to prison.
