This is a one chapter fic, and the song is by the Psychedelic Furs. The story is made up, not meant to hurt anyone, etc. *smile* Oh yeah, and it's mine, so no stealing. LOL

I walk into the club with my friends. They've been so worried about me, even though only one of them knows why I have been upset.

You. Always you.

The music is blasting, and that comes as a relief. If it is loud enough, maybe I won't be able to think.

One can always hope.

I'm not sure as to what hurts more: the fact that you left me, or that I can't even talk about it with anyone but our friend Kayla. That our break-up, just as our romance, must be a secret.

Keeping that secret ended us. The fear of being found out drove you from me.

I'm heading towards the bar, when the crowd parts enough for me to see you at the other end of the dance floor.

Your crystal blue eyes watching me.

I can't tear my gaze from you, and a new song comes on.

The two lines you all are so fond of came to my mind when some of us were discussing what was worse--never being in love, or loving and then losing the person.

I think never having love is worse, but there is a special hurt to being shown just what you are missing and then having it taken away from you. The stray thought, "It's like being given a tour of Heaven and then being tossed into Hell", never quite went away from me and I finally used the line here.

Count me in as a member of the "those 2 lines" club. Those are two very powerful lines. I'm kind of torn about whether or not it'd be better to know something and lose it than to not have it at all. You can't miss what you don't know, so in that way, I'd rather not have something at all. However, I've never been in love so I have no idea how that feels. Regardless, this was a good chapter and I'm glad it turned out the way it did.
