some of the better war-related movies :
- Das Boot ('81)
- Cross of Iron ('77)
- All Quiet on the Western Front ('30) (the book, Remarque's Im Westen nichts Neues, is better as far as I'm concerned)
- Full Metal Jacket ('87)
- The Deer Hunter ('78)
- Apocalypse Now ('79)
- Joyeux Noël ('05)

some russian 'classics' :
- Иваново детство ('62)
- Солярис ('72) (the newer so-called remake, Solaris ('02), is a completely different movie)
- Ностальгия ('83)
- Несколько дней из жизни И. И. Обломова ('80)
- Неоконченная пьеса для механического пианино ('77)
- Табор уходит в небо ('75) (long-praised for its soundtrack and scenery)
- Возвращение ('03) (newer, still easily one of the more interesting titles of the last few years)

some titles recommended only for the strong-hearted (the usual comments vary between 'disgusting' and 'sickening'; however, they do have an intrinsic value) :
- Batoru rowaiaru ('00)
- Cannibal Holocaust ('80) (hard to find, banned in numerous countries across the world)
- Hei tai yang 731 ('88) (hard to find, banned in numerous countries across the world)

and some random 'goodies', spanning across the years :
- Buffalo '66 ('98)
- Lilja 4-ever ('02) (Moodysson's masterpiece; also, the one and the only movie, as far as I'm aware, that features both Tatu and Rammstein on its soundtrack)
- Reconstruction ('03)
- Reservoir Dogs ('92) (I still ask myself why the first of Tarantino's titles are somehow more appealing than his newer ones)
- To Kill a Mockingbird ('62) (again, I think the book is better)
- Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind ('04) (heh, fresh air)
- Twelve Monkeys ('95)
- Requiem for a Dream ('00)
- Delicatessen ('91)
- Angel Heart ('87)
- Nurse Betty ('00) (considered to be a relatively 'exotic' title, surprisingly)
- Gia ('98)
- A Perfect World ('93)
- Der Unhold ('96) (sadly, another less known title)
- Whisky ('04)

not watching (on purpose) to the recently released titles

And it's filmed partly in my city!

Last movie I watched is Sideways. In the moment I watched it i was really stressed and for me it was boring as hell! After every 5 minutes I was like "if it continues this way in the next five minutes I'll stop watching it".

(500) Days of Summer

nicely done rom-com, cute and subtle.

A Serious Man

Nice but slightly overrated, is this the Coen's magna opus as some critics said? I beg to differ.

But I wasn't impressed by other films either, for example Paranormal Activity is effective but a bit of a gimmick in essence. It seems that every film that doesn't suck is suddenly regarded as a masterpiece. This one had some genuinely chilling moments though.

diarios de una ninfomana spanish/french production.
english tittle: diary of a sex addict

6/10
not what I expected exactly but is ok,
she says she enjoys sex so much, but never love, she falls inlove finally and the man is a total jerk and drogadict psico, then gets into hookery /prostitution business just for fun(not the money) and she quits to her "job" and founds herself happy realising that she`s what she is a Ninfa!(ninfomana)- sex addict. THE END.

Notes On A Scandal - Judi Dench as a creepy lesbian was wicked cool! Brilliant drama. Cat Blanchett puts in a wooden performance, though, which is rare for her.

The Fourth Kind - creepy as fuck!
Pandorum - went on for a bit too long but was great overall.
Sorority Row - entertaining teen slasher.
Avatar - not my cup of tea.
Sherlock Holmes - immense!
Triangle - truly amazing, mindboggling horror/thriller. Highly recommended.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo - Immense! A freaking classic. When the Americans remake this they are going to f**k it up big time!
