FTP Commander Pro is the fastest of all I tried. It simple enough but keeps the constant speed while uploding without losses.

Is Fetch only for Mac? Because ive used ftp programs for PC and Mac ... and the Fetch i have on the Mac is faaaaaaaaaaaast and simple

You got to know what you want first and then it's good if you have server path, id and passw.

Actually I had a guestion here too.
I a big video file and want to split it without editing or cutting. They said WindRar splits it but I can't figure out how. Any ideas or alternative soft to perform the same task?

WinAVI - but you have to buy it ... unless you can find a 'pirate' version ... i tried a trial version and it works great (you can also make DvDs from Avi and watch it on your regular DvD player) ... its fast and easy to use
its only 30 bucks, so i really concidered buying it, as i couldnt find illegal one

forre, you can do some in winrar, but only 100, 650 and 700mb...

i am pretty sure with this software you can also split the files .. or join them.. you specify how many files and how big (file size or length - you can do either).. and so on...

Not sure that this is the one I tried once or not, but it seems to split the videos at least:
Easy Video Splitter 2.01

If it's the program I tried then it might have a problem with videos with ac3 sound (divx avi). The rebuilt file was out of sync after a while.. but worked fine with mpg files though.

that's interesting... and bad
i used avimpegsplitter but it splits the file but if the file is large then it adds few seconds from the 1st part to 2nd... so when you would join them tohether, you'd have double scenes

I read an article about an upcoming external harddrive that could be connected directly to the tv for viewing moviefiles (divx, mpg and so on), pictures, ect. It even had a remote control and had output for surround sound. It was to cost 250$ for a 40 gb drive.. Except from the rather small harddrive size it seems cool..

too small for the price... imo, it's much better to buy sat. receiver, hack some cards, and watch loads of (HQ) movies (if you like) every day and you save some money of those 250$

I need this ancient method to upload the files because the server refuses to upload more than 100 mb at a time.

Thanks for the hints ppl. I tried a one and it rebuilt the vid without losses, errors or similar.

They should have come with it earlier. I don't think there will be much of conventional discs in the future - just chips. A good thing though! To tell you the truth, sometimes I loose the track of all my tapes, Cds and similar.
