Talking Otaku, anyone?

I'm interested in this... it seems many tATu fans share likings. So I am asking here and now... who likes anime?!

Name the ones you like the best, if you do! Let's discuss it.

Well I'm not a huge huge fan I do watch from time to time. Not so much any more though...

I havent seen all of Eva yet but I will sometime I really like it... same with outlaw star. hmm what else... Cowboy Bebop was good from what I can remeber... Lain was just trippy (managed to watch the whole series during some booring comp. science classes )... and hmm I watched a bit of Inuyasha and thought it was good... I don't really have a huge interest my brother is much (much, muchhhh) more of an anime freak though hes got wall scrolls of Love Hina and Chobits and stuff all over his room

BTW avatar is from the Korean game War of Genesis III, most of the art is done by amazing artist Hyung-Tae Kim (also did Magna Carta's art), I love his style

oy! Well finally a thread like this surfaces.. o0o I wuuuuuv anime & manga.. (animanga)

heres my list:

-Ranma
-X/1999
-Love Hina
-Chobits
-Initial D
-Fushigi Yuugi
-Peach Girl
-Paradise Kiss
-Inu Yasha
-Oh My Goddess
-Parasyte
-Akira (have the dvd, need to watch it again)

hrmm..i know im forgetting some (its late and i just came home from work.. )..but anywho yea, those are the ones i can name off the top of my head that I've read or seen and really liked. The first anime I've ever seen actually was Sailor Moon, which is funny because it was first time I believe, that I was exposed to ambiguous [lesbianism] what else where you supposed to think??!! (me thinks), you know Haruka and Setsuna (Sailor Uranus & Sailor Pluto) and add on cross dressing, lol but they made them look soo cute so I never really questioned it. But yea SailorMoon was the first.. Then Ranma (one of my all time fav's) If you dont know Ranma, I don't know you! lol I kid.. I kid.. Then X/1999 a completely different genre of animanga, which I love, very philosophical.. about the end of the world. Tis good though, I highly recommend it. (CLAMP RULES!!) lol And now my latest fav, Paradise Kiss, completely different kind of manga style, but me luurves it. Anywho, I could go on for days on each and everyone of the ones I listed, but in fear of boring you. I'll stop here..

Oy! wheres your list darje? oh i hope you don't mind if I pm you about an avatar request..

jockdstylez, PM away! Isn't my chibiLain avatar so kawaii it gives you diabetes?

My list has to be revamped but I can post it in the order of my likings... I'm also a kawaii-anime fan, so don't be surprised in some of my choices. I'll write first the ones I like the most.

1. Akira

2. Serial Experiments Lain

3. Bishoujo Senshi SeraMoon (or for the dubbies, Sailor Moon), R, S, SuperS, and Stars. Stars sucks, thought. The series should have ended in SuperS.

4. Shin Sheiki Evangelion. Vive Rei Ayanami and all the pervert complexes she gave me!

5. Oruchuban Ebichu (which more or less translates to Ebichu the HouseKeeping Hamster). This is a VERY amusing adult series with a hamster as the main character. Which is very sick. And wrong. And amusing. And no, it's not the hamster who does the adult things, so calm down . The actual gender given is, stop your laughing, hamster sex comedy. (Oh boy, do I wish I was kidding.) It has LOTS of japanese puns, like Ebichu popping up in the screen, yelling to the top of her lungs (with an image of fall/winter behind her):
E: What do you see when it's fall?!
Her owner: Kuri? (Squirrels.)
E: Yes, and WHAT do you see when you see kuri?!
Her owner: Suru? (Acorn.)
E: And WHAT do you have when you have both?!
Her owner: Eh?
E: Kurisuru!! (Er. Clitoris. O_o) *giggling like Usagi, which awfully yet is true because Mitsuishi Kotono, who was Usagi, gives Ebichu her voice*

You know what's worse? The creator of Ebichu is not more not less than Hideaki Ano... the creator of Eva...

6. Dragon Ball, first version and Z. BY GOD did GT suck.

7. Ranma Nibbunoichi. :P I somehow managed to skip three weeks of school to watch that series completely.

8. Aa Megamisama (Oh My Goddess!).

9. Cowboy Bebop.

For non series...

10. I could say Grave of the Fireflies is awesome. Depressing as all hell. Oh yes. But amazing.

11. Mononoke Hime (Princess Mononoke).

Back to series:

12. Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040 (oh yeah, Nene/Lina all the way!!)

And last but not least... 13. Saber Marionette J and J to X.

I should rewatch those all... specially Akira... that movie rocks my world...

lol it is vewy cute indeed. Ahh so your strictly anime? Manga readers are such an endangered species these days.. And I was actually fond of SMstars..but thats just moi.. heh.. I was a bit shocked when I heard Inu Yasha was turned into an anime.. and managed to catch a few episodes. May I say, the manga was definately better, and the anime (like most) doesn't hold true to the manga's story.. lol but whatever..

Though I do feel ashamed that it seems I'm the only one who hasn't seen Cowboy Bebop.. whats the synopsis?..

Oy..well I knew I forgot some..so here are the ones I forgot..

-Ceres
-Mars (this is one is really sweet.. but that one boy is so dark and mental..lol)
-Magic Knight Rayearth
-Cardcaptors Sakura (twas okay...)
-DBZ (strictly)
-Tenchi Muyo

jockdstylez, CCS is good. MKR too. Mokona is adorable!

I'm actually a manga reader too. My brother gave me Akira's first tankoubon on my 16th birthday . And I have almost all of SailorMoon in manga, plus some evangelion ones.

lol yup mokona is indeed is a cutie.. but I really liked Zagato, especially his get up.. oh oh and Guru Clef, sooo cute.. hehe

I have most of the Sailor Moon manga too.. And I had recorded the original episodes religiously everyday after school. Those gemini twins were my favorite villains, with the flute.. I did have a chibichibi poster somewhere, but I can't seem to find it. Ahh all this anime talk inspired me to read x/1999 again.. it seems I'm the only (except for my friend) who has even heard of it, much less read it.

jockdstylez, I've heard about it... it's just that I am not a fan of it... TOO weird, even for Clamp... and you're getting this from someone who was up a whole night thinking what was Lain...

hrmm well that definately describes X/1999, but Sorata always lightens the mood. But I'm not sure about any other Clamp stuff.. Chobits is far from dark.. and MKR has a dark concept entwined in a bubbly story, but its nothin compared to X/1999.. hrmm but those are the only ones I'm familiar with..could be wrong..

Fansite. Old and hasn't been updated in a while, however, it contains a good amount of information. Only four volumes have been released, that I know of.

It's not finished yet, by far, I don't think. But Clamp are sure taking their sweet time. :P

I loves it. Bittersweet, more so than totally depressing.

hm ... Clover ... isn't it one of clamp's masterpiece ... the one that i remember is the comic ... which have no dialogues ..... just drawings .... (kinda unique indeed but good) .... its about some special girl who have special power so she called as a 'four leaf clover' isn't it ??
*clamp mania here* hehehehe
