Thank you. I decided to go darker. I think Fractured is the darkest dance song i've made. EBM inspired after Dradeel's recommendations. Operate is the most poppy dance song i've made on the other hand!

I'm making special digipaks for this album.
This is THE album i've wanted to make.
It's flow is perfect and thematically it works brilliantly!
My friend Tai is currently working on the back cover, inside picture and lyrics sheet.
It's going to be done elaborately. I want it to be as nice as possible.
So far today i've had 6 pre-orders for it!
When i get back from visiting family i will start on the vocals. I need to buy a new microphone.
You will defo be getting a signed one and your own thank you in the album too. In fact, Fractured was actually dedicated to you and it says that under the lyrics for the song.

The music is done. i'm going to do some vocals when i get back from visiting family. though i do still want you to attempt vocals on the song we agreed on and i may need you to do some other little quirky things like pretending to have a conversation on a phone lol.

Dark City is my 6th album. I've always taken my lyrics writing very seriously but i'm more relaxed and open to ideas when making the music. I like to have fun with it even if it does sound dark.
I've defo evolved. I think you can hear the development from album to album. This album left me speechless especially after sitting and listening to it from start to finish. Working on the guitar and then transposing them into an electronic track led to more melodies and the mix of music. There's some EBM, Trip-Hop, Ambient, Electroclash, Electro-Pop and a wee bit of dark Dance.
I hope you find a track or tracks that stand out and mean something to you. That'd be great =)

Hmm... to be honest I'm kinda disappointed ...











... FUCKING KIDDING!

I'm loving it, man. "Depressive", gloomy and dark stuff. It doesn't sound cheesy, simple or unprofessional. It's complex and solid, and while dark it's also beautiful. Without the drums I'm thinking it would be good soundtrack music for a sci-fi horror movie actually. Not that I think it shouldn't have drums. Hehe. You've done good, man!

Major celebrations are going to be taking place this coming week!
I'm over the fucking moon that you like it. After the last CD i felt terrible. I had said to Adam that i never wanted to make electronic music ever again. So i got the guitar out and all the tracks on this album bar from In Flux were all made skeletally on the guitar and then transposed into the tracks that they now are. I found that to work amazingly well. I'm also chuffed that i managed to get some hooks in there too!
The only criticism i have had about the album was from Adam who thinks it's too dark. Yet strangely i played it to my mom today and she loved it. She was even dancing to Operate, Dark City and Fractured! I nearly died of shock!
As i've said before (and i've had to explain this to many people a lot over the past 5 years) i've always been drawn to dark melodies. I love spookiness. I love dark ambience. Whereas, i admit, i have deliberately set out to make the songs as dark as possible in the past with "Dark City" i can honestly say i never. It is defo the most channelled experience i have had since i wrote "Book of Shadows" and "The Nocturnicon."
Even the lyrics have flowed freely this past week or so. I'm still struggling to find lyrics to "In The Future" and i need to write some lyrics to "In Dreams" still.
Is there any standouts would you say Dradeel?

Sweet. That was the first synth song i made. I went nuts with it Though i do still really love it. I did do a strange vocal for it too... but got rid of it. :/
I've been exercising my vocal chords ready for to start doing some vocals for the new songs... hopefully i can do it well as it's been a while since i last recorded vocals.
