French Music
Who knows, this may interest 2 or 3 people.
************ Here's the brand new single of MC Solaar - Da Vinci Claude, absolutely brilliant, a sure hit in France (and probably nowhere else, lol). Alternative link on YouTube. |

French music... well, metal.
Personal favourite (well, actually the guy is swiss, but he sings in french on many songs, and also the band is/was signed on a french label) is Unholy Matrimony. One man black metal band. There are some extreme metal acts from france that has drawn alot of attention the last couple of years tho. One in particular: Gojira. I'm not a fan of them, but some friends of mine like 'em. Enviormentally concerned death metal. Quite a weird mix. Bet half the band are vegans |

well im not a fan of mc solaar, but im always interested in listening to some french music.
last thing i listened was vincent delerm, quite good. mickey 3d is fun, dolly (tous des stars-loved that song), indochine... some older stuff like noir desire. i like jane birkin too if u count her as french(cool album with colaborations- gainsbourg revisited), i even went to her concert when she was touring with arabesque. i also went to some small french bands concerts in zagreb. id appreciate very much, if u french ppl introduced us to some good musique. |

zebu, Dolly is a good band, in my opinion, I have 4 albums if you want me to upload them, just ask
it would be my pleasure I've seen Vincent Delerm live few years ago, that was great we had to shout the name of the songs we wanted him to play it's kind of old but I really like Cox, here's their myspace http://www.myspace.com/coxofficial if you want to take a look I'm pretty sure that the lead singer is playing solo now, he's involved with Zazie *gossips* |

Sure, i'll post new videos regularly.
************ In the meantime, here's a bunch of great singles from Nadiya, a very popular singer here. Nadiya - Amies-Ennemies, Nadiya looking more girly than usual Nadiya - Roc, powerful song with heavy guitars Nadiya - Tous Ces Mots, another punchy song Nadiya - Signes, Arabian feel Nadiya - Si Loin De Vous, funny tune with Nadiya showing her butch side, shot on the nuclear carrier Charles De Gaule Nadiya - Et C'est Parti, that song kicks ass, litterally… "Put your mother fucking hands up!!!" LOL Nadiya - Parle-Moi, dark song about child abuse, hence the video And just for fun, some live performances of Nadiya singing "What A Feeling" and "Lady Marmelade", lol. |

Superbus is cool band, but they were better back in the day when their concerts cost 6 euros and the lead singer wasn't a complete b*tch! lol
Anaïs - mon coeur, mon amour it was a huge hit too Anaïs - Christina her album is really funny, it's a live where she interacts with the audience hehe so cool I can upload it too, just ask me |

One French artist that I'm really loving right now is Emilie Simon.
I think she's great. Videos on Youtube: "Fleur de Saison" "Dame de Lotus" "Desert" "Flowers" On youtube, there are also many other videos including live performances. I actually like her better live as compared to the album versions. Her Myspace: http://www.myspace.com/emiliesimonmusic |

This weekend I came over a new band. Never heard of them before. Was just something that was playing in this music store I was in.
Band: Dolls of Pain After a little reading I found out it's a french band. The album that was played is called "Dec[a]dance". So I guess you know what music it is right there... electronic stuff. Dark Electro/New Wave. Dance music of the dark kind, pretty much. The rhythms are slow and heavy, the sounds reak of dance and acids, and the mood is fetishistic and dark. If people wanna check it out, here's track 1, "Bring Me Some Flesh" and track 2, "Inside". If people like it, then just send me a msg and I might be able to fork up some more Edit: I uploaded the album to a friend of mine, so I'll just as well post it to you. Here you go. |

Ok, i'm making this post for the sake of cultural diversity.
In France we have a musical genre called raï'n'b, as you may guess it's a fusion of raï and r'n'b, this kind of music is popular in France (urban areas, it's not really what a typical farmer will listen to while plowing his field), Marocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and… parts of India because it shares similarities with some Indian pop music. Here's 2 major hit singles by Leslie & Amine (top 10 in the French chart): Leslie & Amine - Sobri, this one even went up to #2 in the French chart Leslie & Amine - Sobri 2, obvious Indian connection in this one, lol I don't know if they're planning to do a Sobri 3, probably since as we say in French "jamais 2 sans 3". Oh and contrary to what many people think, Leslie is not French-Arab, she's French-Vietnamese-Polynesian. Here's Amine alone, one of the biggest hits of 2006 in France: Amine - J'voulais, this single stayed #1 in the French chart for no less than *5 weeks*, shows how popular this genre can be I've thought for some years now that we should send some French-Arab raï'n'b to Eurovision just to see the reactions it would cause, that or some hardcore French-Arab rap, lol. ************ And now something completely different… Katerine - Louxor J'adore Katerine - 100% VIP I'm warning you, this guy is crazy. Believe it or not, he's been doing this for 16 years and 8 albums and has a dedicated fanbase, his last album sold over 120,000 copies in France (that's twice more than Tatu's D&M). I've read that FT (French public broadcaster) is thinking of sending him to Eurovision next year and be done with it. |
