That is the Americanized Spanish alphabet. There is no such thing as a Mexican alphabet.

The traditional Spanish alphabet is
Aa Bb Cc Dd Ee Ff Gg Hh Ii Jj Kk Ll Mm Nn Ññ Oo Pp Qq Rr Ss Tt Uu Vv Ww Xx Yy Zz

All the other letters were added, I believe, to help Americans remember the different sounds certain combinations of letters make.

If you know how to pronounce 'paces', then it's simple. Just say 'paces', but stop at the 'c'.
If you don't, er... Put your tongue between your teeth as if you were to bite it, and then take the air out of your mouth through your teeth.
If you know what I mean.

In Latin American Spanish, the "Z" in "paz" would be pronounced the same at the letter "S." The English "Z" sound does not exist in Spanish. In Castillian Spanish, it would be pronounced "path"

You, spanish-speaking people, are confusing

Whatever way I learn to pronounce some things, I always end up demonstrating result of my hard efforts to someone who has it 'different' and makes fun of me

Yeah it really does. It's stressing, seeing as you think it's right, but it's wrong in this version, etc.

I have no idea on what Spanish I try to learn

I had a spanish friend some years ago and he was teaching me how to pronounce things and laughing at me saying I sound like someone from Latin America (seems latin spanish is closer to russian than spanish spanish phonetically). And now I have a colombian friend who mocks me a lot saying I sound too spanish and teaches me to pronounce things 'right'.

Having in mind that I haven't had any practice for quite a while and 'zapato', 'zanahoria', 'tiene usted una cerveza muy fria. tengo sed' + 1 song by Natalia Oreiro is pretty much everything that I remember, I can guess what a perfect object for mocking I am

haha, wow
Well from my point of view, Russian isnt hard to pronounce..
the hard part is talking it at a normal speed..lol
Since im not use to using V or K in alot of words
or very long words, its kinda hard to say it fast.
Easy to read & Pronounce.

Historically, "Castellano" refers to the language of Castilla, the Old Kingdom of Spain. After the Spanish language was brought over when much of Central and South America was conquered by the Spanish, obviously, the language evolved differently in every region. Technically, "Castellano" would refer the "Spanish" spoken in Spain since that's were the Old Kingdom was. Many countries in South America, especially the southern half, decided to adopt the term "castellano" for their language because calling it "español" would be too much of a link between them and their former Spanish conquerors.

I know that Argentina and Uruguay (I can't remember the others) call the language they speak "castellano," but technically, it isn't.

Russian and Spanish (well, the Romance languages in general) are more similar than I thought they'd be. Pronunciation shouldn't be hard for Spanish-speakers. My Russian teacher, Natalia Myshkina (haha), once told me I had a charming accent.

I wonder what speed you consider 'normal'. If one Yulia speaks at then... well all I can say is 'don't try to repeat this trcik at home'. She's in the league of her own

Speed will come with confidence. Confidence will come with practice. Russian indeed isn't that hard as we don't have obvious tongue-twisting sounds.

From what I remember from Learning russian thread we had couple of years ago, the most difficult thing about russian pronouncation is softness of consonants. Many find it quite hard to make those sounds different enough. With reading main trouble is vocals though We constantly pronounce 'o' as 'a' and 'e' as 'i' etc. Well and for some people Zh, ch, sch sounds are hard a bit, spanish people often find it hard to get 'b' and 'v' difference right. Depends on the native language a lot but in general, spanish speakers shouldn't have serious problems with russian.

In my Russian class we had to recite tongue twisters. Mine was something like "Shla Sasha po shosse i sosala sushku" and there was another one "Karl u Klary ukral korally, a Klara u Karla ukrala klarnyet." They're fun

These 2 tongue-twisters are the most popular here as well, I think
