Gay Prides

After the sad images we've seen in Moscow this weekend, i thought it would be a good idea to have a happier thread about the upcoming gay prides that are going to take place soon (mainly in Europe and America i guess, but maybe elsewhere too). Some of you may even attend one of those events.

The idea of this thread is to simply announce the next big events in your area and post pictures if you can so we can feel the love.

I'll start with what i know…

The next Europride will take place on 30 June 2007, Europride takes place every year in a different city and this year it's in Madrid, so it's gonna be HOT.

In France, there are Prides scheduled in 15 cities, map and full list of events here.

You can see pictures of Paris Pride 2006 here, click on "Paris 2006, Les photos" in the left menu, after that you'll probably manage to navigate through the pictures.


Just under "Paris 2006, Les photos", you can see "Rouen 2006, Les photos", and as some of you may know, this is where i live, so if you have a look at that gallery, you'll get a gay tour of my humble home town, haha.

I actually live very close to where the first pictures were taken and the march starts, in this picture you can see my street on the left side of the church, i live 5mn away.

I love those guys, the ones in light blue shirts are gay police officers (off duty obviously, lol) participating in the march.

Those same police officers posing in front of the City Hall, they're great, i think the guys with helmets are from the electricity company.

I hope she didn't have to carry her the whole time.

Anyway, plenty more pics in the Rouen 2006 gallery, it's a small march obviously, we're not Paris, but it's nice and friendly.

Is there Gay Pride in just one City on each country?

Here in the U.S there is Gay Pride in every City
well at least here in Texas there is..theres like 4 major cities here
so that leads to 4 events.
Im suprised Fort Worth has them too..since Dallas does it.

Prides are this month

first i am going to Los Angeles Pride in West Hollywood. I love LA...

then, San Francisco Pride on june 23-24

we are gonna try to go to San Diego Pride as well, but that is not for sure

The parade is actually not my fav part, the best if the entertainment afterwords... and of course all the parties the night before at clubs

in San Francisco there is a LGBT film festiva that runs right before the pride for two weeks and shows some nice movies http://www.frameline.org/index.aspx

You're missing Providence's Pride from the list of US prides

Ours is 6/17-6/19 and I expect the city will be covered in Rainbow banners any day now. City Hall also usually has a Pride flag instead of the state flag during June at the very least.

Should be awesome this year.

Whats a Gay Pride without a DYKE March the day before the pride this is San Francisco's Dyke March last year....

and this is the PRE-March party @ Dolores Park How convinient that i am moving into an apartment 2 blocks from the park tomorrow - this year attending would be EASY lol At the end the march is kicked off by the Dykes on Bikes.. vroooooooooooom vroooooooooooom

Channel 2 sums up the Parade last year - it was L Word pride last year with Jennifer and Ilene in the Celeb Grand Marshal car... the year before it was L Word Pride as well with Daniela Sea and Ilene as Grand Marshal... i hope the tradition stays this year - Kate Moennig and Leisha Hailey? i hope, they havent announced the marshals yet!

well you know some people in america believe that topless girls arent allowed in the streets (that'd be texas and SD haha), however this isnt the case in San Francisco.. we have plenty of topless and naked.
What is great about the Dyke March is that a lot of the trans boys, girls that transitioned into guys, are topless as well, and show how much better and better top surgeries get - some times you cant even tell until you look really really hard for that little scar. Sometimes they are onlyl wearing white undies...

i myself, and hundred of others, wear normal clothes... oh except i bought a Dyke March Two Thousand and SEX t-shirt for last year lol

dyke is NOT derogatory term amongst the queer people, so NO, officially the march is called Dyke March, just like the Dykes on Bikes is an official registered name
