Some press digest on the hosting arrangement: 1. Stinking police is a challenge for the nose. 2. Taxi drivers are as crasy as in Turkey. 3. The arena's roof carries 90 ton of the equipment and is a major safety risk. 4. The stage is one of the most spectacular in the history of Eurovision. 5. It takes 30 minutes for the restaurant order to be served no matter what you ordered - a full meal or just a cup of coffee. |

No time to read all the new posts in here (running low on battery) but faves from semi final:
Latvia and Schwizerland (I got the spelling wrong, yeah?). And Denmark is still in the running |

The winning concept
Bristol University's physiologist and music expert Dr Harry Witchel said winning tunes at the song contest had to have seven crucial elements to them. They were pace and rhythm, an easily memorable song, a perfect chorus, key change, a clearly defined finish, dance routine and finish. He tipped Bosnian entry Call Me, by Feminnem, to win Saturday's final. Full article at BBC News |

Why? It has pace and rhythm, very easily memorable... Ive heard it once and i can already sing and shake my bon bon to it LoL ...im not sure about the clearly defined finish, but the dance routine is definately there (well, depending on how she would perform it on stage), but ..... she is famous enough - thats a plus, she has enough experience - another plus and something to let you believe she will put on a good show on stage. Also a huge plus for me is the ethno/[chalga influences ... Basically, it might not be as strong song or vocals as lots other ones, but thats what people would want to hear for the rest of the summer - not some BAD "Evanescence" 'rockish 'performances like Swiss or Russia (sorry to all the Vanilla fans 'round here, but I really dont like that type of music hihi), or some sleeeeeeeeepy boooooooooring ballad that is sang superbly. Then I will not even comment on the rest of the ridicules songs that i dont think have any chance - like Sweden for example - which i wonder who would want to hear even once?!? Im all for the not-so-great, but catchy chalgish-euro-popish Greece. Goooooooo Elena Paparizou! [is this how you pronaunce it spy? silent 'H' in the front?](Besides, then i could always say that something 'swedish' won ) oh and besides, Ive liked Antique ever since they came out with their first single 'Opa Opa' and then "Dinata Dinata' - such GREAT memories for me from the summer of 2000 spent in Bulgaria edit: Ok, Ive heard Greece twice now, and i have to say its definitelly my #1 choice, it is already 'glued' to me LoL - ok, final is Sunday at 21 CET? *checks calendar for Sunday afternoon events* |

coolasfcuk, You might be very right. Many things point to this.
As for ABBA-copies. I'm so tired to hear them at Eurovision every year. I don't want this super-drooper-pop to win, not even to come in top 5. Nope! Basta! |

Bastaaaaa! I agree well my cousins said they were gonna vote for Greece, but I dont even think they can vote now - yeah, thanks to Kaffe LoL and now: "you're my lover ... undercover... you're my sacret passion.... you're delicioius.... say you love me... and you'll have me... in your arms forever.. say you miss me.. come and kiss me.... you are the one... my number one..." see, i remembered half the lyrics after 3 listens ... and I love shaking my ass and snapping my fingers above my head yelling 'Opaaaaaaa' to the chalga parts in the middle - im assuming lots of Balkaniers/Slavs would feel the same |

She has a decent dance routine too. She did promo in 16 countries prior to the contest and in some of them the song topped the charts. They play it here in Sweden 24/7 on the radio, so " ... and finally 12 points from Sweden gooooo tooooooo ... Greece!"
Remember my words, ppl! |

Unfortunatelly, I don't see me voting for Greece. I like funny things - like Norway, for instance.
Okay, I'll be kind with you, cool: Greek costume rehearsal. |

Cool, are you trying to influence the forum to vote for Greece? I doubt it's gonna work. But the rest of the world will probably do, so no worries Have you listened to the original versions of "Opa Opa" and "Dynata"? |

Well, i think it is hard to judge from those photos, as The greek one is in such a BAD pose that it makes her look like a 12 year old barellina with bad hairday LoL Oh, and Russia actually picked a good political song to grab attention - if only it wasnt in such a bad style (i really dont like songs like that) |

coolasfcuk, I'll post my Top 10 tomorrow, which will be composed by using facts and statistics and vocal performances. Greece won't be #1. My head tells me that it should be the winner but my "Eurovision nose" smells something different.

I can envision a head-to-head battle between Switzerland and Greece with Greece winning it in the end. If Greece is not to win, who is going to? I see no other entry which has the potential, and I very much doubt that Romania or Hungary ( with that bad singer ) can go all the way, despite the low odds.
Bad outfits can make a bad impression but I'd rather go for dancing routines. This is the bookies top10 (actual Top 10 in bald) Greece Norway Hungary Switzerland Malta Bosnia-Herzegovina Romania Moldova Sebia-Montenegro Israel Will the final have live music and not playback by any chance? |

Spy, Vanilla Ninja is from Swisstonia.
Norway, Moldova, Swisstonia (in any order), followed by a ballad. That's my express mini prediction. I'm going to bet on those three too. What do you think? Quote:
