Yeah unfortunately I was only in MI for the summer. LOL @ 'the south'! But Oy @ movin to DC! Nooooo thanks there. I've been to DC a few times & I don't really like it. The only big city I've ever felt comfortable in was Toronto. I went to my first gay bar there (on accident! LOL) & just absolutely loved the city. I can't wait to go back there one day!

yes, it says a few times that it's "intended for awards consideration only", so there you go.

anyway, i saw it and it was quite splendid if i do say so myself. full of emotion, an 'atmospheric' movie. it gradually grabs you and doesn't let you go until the end when you might shed a tear or two. the actors did a fantastic job (all of them, not just the guys). what's really great is that the film follows the short story pretty damn well.

ps if anyone wants the short story, i'll upload it.

and i uploaded the short story anyway. it helps a lot especially if you can't understand what Ennis is saying in some parts Annie Proulx - Brokeback Mountain.

EDIT: forgot to say i even love the soundtrack to this movie. i'm no fan of country music, but these songs are damn good! i especially love "the maker makes" by Rufus Wainwright (hence my sig). but all the others are great, i dont skip anything.

Some good news: The film Brokeback Mountain was stuffed in the Oscars, losing best picture to some obscure film called Crash.
But Ang Lee wins best director, which is fair & square in my book...that film didn't deserve to win best picture.

Film has very much liked me, but as it seems to me - in him practically there is no music...
And in fact music could make film by even more dramatic!

I'm going to see Crash for sure. Wanted to before it won and now it's a must. I hoped for Brokeback Mountain to win, but hard not to when it was the only one of best feature I had seen
