oh forre is still lurking here! Mossopp why don't you get broadband? They start from 13 quid a month for 300k and you get the first 3 months free. How much do you pay for your dialup?

I hate my shitty comp and my shitty dial-up connection!
Hotmail account won't accept files larger than 1 Mb I think. So, it maybe that's why. What about putting them on a CD or flash mem? Finally you can try to upload them on a server. I'm sure some one can host a few pics for you temporarily.

Spy, where should I go? You know me ... I can be pretty much everywhere when I have time and something to say.

I managed to attach them, but it wouldn't let me veiw them after I'd attached them.
I can't put them on CD because I don't have the facility to do so.

Spy - I have access to broadband at work but not at home.
I live in the middle of nowhere - there's no option to have broadband where I live.

Can you try and zip them first see if you can save some space then send them to your hotmail? Winzip has an insane mode where you can squeeze a file by 80% ( allegendly )

Got a program that can divide a file into smaller ones then join them together?

Hmm, can't think of any more ideas. See if yahoo mail will allow bigger files?

That applies to cable but for ADSL you only need your telephone line. I'm sure you can have it even in the middle of nowhere.

Burning them on a CD-ROM? But you don't have a CD writer, do you? Got a program that can divide a file into smaller ones then join them together?
No. No CD rom and no program to divide files.

It's no biggie. It doesn't matter.
Thanks for your help everyone.

Plus the condition that the local phone station is equipped with DSL modules and that's nothing what a single person can affect.

Mossopp, How big are the files?

Mossopp, send them to my alt. e-mail address (check in the PM) and I'll put them up on a server. That's all I can suggest.

Does yahoo briefcase take such big a file? If yes, you can upload them there and access them tomorrow from work.

Yeah but how will she send them if the email account can't accept files bigger than 1 mb

Dude, It's almost 1am. I have to get up for work in less that 7 hours. I don't have time for Yahoo 'Brief-whatever'.
I guess I'm just not gonna get these fucking stupid WP's onto my work comp.

I hope she has alternative e-mail account that can deal with large files. If not, then they can be transferred by msn for Christ's sake!

Mossopp, oki-doki, nite-nite then. We'll figure it out tomorrow.

It's two minutes job. Get into yahoo briefcase (briefcase.yahoo.com) log on with your yahoo account - you got one , right? - then add files and see if they work. They have 30 mb storage there and I think a limit of 3 mb for each file. That's the best you can do.

No Spy - I don't have a Yahoo account.

Thanks forre, but it's ok. I'll leave it for now. It's getting real late here and I don't want to put anyone out.
If I can't rectify the problem myself tomorrow, then I'll take you up on your offer.
Thanks for your help. I'm off to bed now.

I dunno if this is a dumb question or not but here goes:
Is there such a thing as a free program I could download that would allow me to re-size pictures? I've got a bunch of pictures I wanna shrink but MSPaint won't shrink pictures - it justs cuts 'em to size so you end up losing the majority of the picture (who's bright idea was that??! ).

Thanks.
But it looks complicated.... (or maybe I'm just stupid).
But why is it called "gimp"? Don't they know what a "gimp" actually is?
Are you totally sure you were able to resize pics in MSPaint? I spent ages one night trying to figure out how to do it and came to the conclusion that it was impossible. Everyone else I've spoken to said it's impossible too.

Of course you can re-size in Paint!
Go to Image > Stretch/Skew and then just enter the numbers ("Stretch)... keep in mind you need to enter the same number (for example 50%) on "Horizontal" and "Vertical" otherwise your pictures will look screwed up.
