How do I get the Internet Explorer icon back on my desktop? It was there, and then when I turned on the computer yesterday, it was gone from my desktop. It wasn't in the Recycling Bin either.

Tango, right click on your desktop, click "properties", select the "desktop" tab. Click "customize desktop" and then tick the internet explorer option. Press "ok" and then you're done

Dunno why anyone would wanna use IE anyway, it's evil!

I have a problem with my second hard disk in the beginning when it installed it works but now i can't see it anymore. I see it when i start the computer but when it's fully loaded its gone. Does someone know what the problem is?

Do you know good program to burn DVD Video and watch in DVD player?

I don't know if you can watch it after on DVD player...I think so but to copy DVD I use "shrink" here...it's very good.

I'm not sure it's what you were asking for...shrink is to encode normal dvd, even when they are protected to 4.7G DVD for example.

im with nath , dvdshrink is a good shareware program to compress dvds and burn them to ordinary 4.7 gig dvd discs. minimal loss of pic quality in my experience too.

if youd rather use a prog you need to pay for [but i dont know many people who do !] use clonedvd -- www.clonedvd.net/

the dvds burnt by both dvdshrink and clonedvd will work in most dvd players as long as its not one of those old ones that just refuse to play dvd copies

SAS broke my notebook during the flight.
My fan is out...so my computer switches out each 15 minutes.

I don't want to sent it to HP cause I don't like so much the idea to wait 1 or 2 months before to get it back.

So 1/Do you know a place in internet where I could find and buy HP COOLER FAN ?( a fan for an HP Pavilion zv6114EA Notebook) Cause they don't seem to have it anymore in the official HP site.

2/Have you already tried to install a fan into a notebook by yourself?

I installed new IDE harddrive to my old computer and put it slave. I cant see that in my computer, but I can see it in BIOS & Device control. What should I do to see it in My Computer?

Download a program called "Partition Magic" ... I think you need to get hold of it the warez-way, cause the trial won't let you create partitions if I'm not mistaken. Anyways, with that you'll see your new harddrive. The program is very easy to understand. In short you have to highlight the free space on the new harddrive and press "create new partition", choose a letter for it and some info that's not too important - besides; make sure it's made in ntfs and not fat32. And then you press ok and then to apply all the stuff you've just done you press "apply" and it'll create the new partition. It might take a while, and probably need a restart. But after that you're good to go to use your new harddrive

If it is your second drive your disk is not activated, I suppose. You can do it in your control panel. Somewhere in computer-administration -> drive-administration (or whatever it is called in your language). There is the option to activate (and eventually format, if it's not already done).

Do you use 'partition magic'? As far as I know this program lets you create only one type of partitions (ntfs or fat32). So all your partitions should be of the same type.

If this program continues to annoy you, try it with MS windows own tools: Control panel -> Administration -> computer administration -> drive administration (don't know the exact expressions for these in english or other languages, just a translation from german). To the right of your new disk there should read something like "free diskspace" with a green bar. Right click on it and do your 'create new partition' and 'format'. Maybe you have to 'activate' it (right click -> 'mark as active' or so) before 'format'.

Sadly I dont have that thing in my control panel, maybe coz I dont have windows xp in this fu***** old computer.
