First-off, I would get a real pop-up blocker, not a firewall (to block pop-ups! Do get a firewall for protection!). I recommend STOPzilla (STOPzilla Download Page). You can get a free 15 day trial, and it works extremely well.

Does anyone know how to rip the audio portion of a video file? In particular, I want the audio only of a live tatu concert (one from Turkey) so I can burn it to a CD, but just knowing the process will help me out with a lot of other stuff. I have Windows XP if that's needed for anything. Thanks in advance if anyone knows something.

could anyone please shed some light on this annoying problem of mine. For some reason each time i press the spacebar the computer mutes automatically, so pretty much i cant listen to any music while im typing [even at this moment i cant enjoy my freshly downloaded The Killers cd, because of this stupid problem]. I've looked and tinkered with all the buttons that i could tinker with, without crashing the computer and still i have no idea how to disable this stupid command...pleeeeeeaaasssee someone help meeeeee

nataku, first check to see if it's the keyboard. Turn off the computer, un plug it, and reboot. If you have another keyboard try switching them. Second, try changing your media player. Uninstalling/reinstalling might fix it. Third, I have a question. Does this happen all the time? (i.e. not just playing music, but playing games, etc.) And are you using have speakers? If so, try using different speakers or the default computer sound system if available.

What software are you using to play the album? I don't trust the title of the album .. LoL
Since when this happening?
What last think you did before this happened? did you install new software of anything.

I've checked that Real Player and Microsoft Media Player, it will pause if you press [space bar] but only if the real play is the front process .. ( I mean active window).

im quite certain its the key board. and it mutes with all media players, its not the player that mutes it's the its the speakers itself, and unfortunately i dont have a spare keyboard or speakers so i cant really compare.. This has been happening for a very long time now and still i have yet to find a solution


oh and right now im using iTunes to play music..but it mutes with any other players i use..

okay .. so the Killer album is innocent then .. how about try to borrow keyboard from your friend first .. its the easiest way to find out if you should buy new keyboard or not.

Try hitting alt+shift, nataku.. that normally fix keyboard settings at my keyboard. Though that is when I have other troubles.. *cough* like English keyboard *cough*

Have you had sound turned off in msn while playing a game? that once turned off sound completely at my computer. But then again then it wouldn't be returning when pressing space..
