Last movies seen: tv: Training Day - not as good as expected, but it was good for a sunday evening just wanting some entertainment vhs: Festen aka. The Celebration - the best dogme movie so far. One of the best danish movies aswell dvd: 21 Grams - I might need to watch it again one day now to get some sense out of the first 20 min or so (I got the storyline confused so didn't have a clue to what was going on) . Deff. worth seeing. cinema: National Treasure - had it not been for free I wouldn't have paid to see it. It's not all bad, but I'm not much of a Nic Cage fan. Nice entertainment though, but mostly because of Diane Kruger |

Vanity Fair...waste of time and energy indeed
Reese Witherspoon needs to learn to pick up better scripts. The movie was feining sense and sensibility but failed miserably as it bored the crap out of its captors. ~el finito~ |

Just finished watching Open Water. Most of the movie moves back and forth between slow moments and suspense. The ending was not what I expected. Instead of only being average, the ending made it good for me. If you're a diver, it's very easy to put yourself in the characters' shoes.

New movie of the weekend: tv: Pay It Forward - not really a feel good movie as I thought it would be. But despite that it's still worth a look. Perhaps one will think about it some more. tv: Twelve Angry Men - Not the original version but a tv-remake from 1997. Once the disappointment of watching a remake had passed it was actually quite good. Makes one reconsider if a jury is such a good thing after all. |

The Village - boring to death.
Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind - who said it was a good one? A confusing picture with a super simple message that needs no interpretation (-). Good actors doing great job (+). |

haha, you liked it so much forre
Can somebody explain to me how in Eternal Sunshine... after they erased the memories of each other, they had a deja vu where they met again? Did they go back in time as well? Yeah confusing but a good film regardless...just slightly overrated. Guess what, I might be the only one in the world, who thought that the Motorcycle Diaries was B.O.R.I.N.G. Which makes My Neighbour Totoro my favourite film of the week. The little one was just as annoying as a real 4-year old is. |

Yeah but it wasn't really a memory, I suppose you mean when they break into that house, and then as the real memory disappears, Kate Winslet's character calls him back to the house - but this isn't an actual memory it must be Jim Carrey's subconscious again, as it's fighting to retain his memories - and she then whispers to him "Meet me in Montak" - or whatever that place is called. So that is the glitch of the procedure retained as a hint on the subconscious, right?
Or was it really Kate Winslet's spirit visiting him in the subconscious? It really lost me from that point onwards. Though I understand they meet again in the train and blah, blah, blah I didn't get the subconscious level thingie at all. They erase the memories - lets accept that bit - that should be the end of it. But I guess love found a way once again. Nice... |

I saw it as Jim fought against erasing memories during the wipe-up procedure and was trying to find the point from where the memory could be retrieved. Kate got her memories back with the help of Elijah who prompted her memory to recover. So basically Jim recreated everythng in his dreams.
