You want the two things that should be censored on TV?

Snuff and porn.

You can get both in the internet, anyway. *Shrug.*

Otherwise, what Tatu did was just showing what happens every day between a man and a woman, a woman and another, or a man and another. Love often comes in the form of kisses. And Janet's nipple? Come on, we all have two. It isn't like I'm going to be traumatized because she half-mooned us.

I mean, you guys, my little sister, who's seven, has been trying to set me up with her friends' brothers. Someday, just not right now, she'll learn that her big sister likes women, and some day she'll see me kiss another female. She's not going to be traumatized nor my dad is going to censor that kiss: she's going to expand her knowledge on what her posibilities are as a human. Someday she's also going to be submitted to watching HOURS of Tatu videos next to me. :P (The most acceptable ones, anyhoo.) Tell me if that should be censored?

Of course not Everyone has their own mind and can choose what they wanna be or wanna do, if you see violent shows and then go kill someone, or if you say seeing two women kissing makes you a lesbian just because you saw it on TV, you have mental issues. And just because some people are fucked up and copy stuff they see on TV, it doesn't mean we must have censorship on TV.

I think only penetration should be censored. I don't see why nudity should be censored - for example, I heard that in the States they cut nudiity from certain movies so they can show them on TV - why?! Is nudity a shame? Scandalous? Outrageous? Shocking? No, it's completely natural, what's the big deal?
When I was a kid and was watching movies with my parents and there was a scene with full frontal nudity, they'd just be like joking saying "cover your eyes!" - and I'd laugh and watch the whole thing of course, there's no big deal. That way, instead of being a prude, I'm ok with being naked around other people. Am I a pervert? No, I'm just NORMAL! It's not normal to be a prude!

OK, if you censor porn, that's fine with me, pay for it if you wanna watch it, buy some magazines, porn tv channels, websites or whatever. But as far as kissing + nudity is concerned, I don't see what's the big deal.

I guess you just have to live where i live to understand the people. I do, and i just know how they feel... i know their opinions of Tatu [which was, "They are disgusting"]. They believe Evolution is a complete Fraud... they hate people who voice any opinion that isn't theres... This is who the FCC is censoring... not for art, not because they think it's horrible, because they KNOW if they put it on the air they will be hunted down and killed for their blasphamy by these people, they will. I've been torn apart by these people. I KNOW.

Well, sorry, but I don't agree with that. All of that should be put on air and be shown as normal. Of course those prudes would still complain, but they can't complain forever, and if they saw that stuff would go on air no matter what, they'd just get used to it, whether they like it or not.

I think putting that allegedly "shocking" ( ) stuff on air without censorship and not giving in to the prudes is the right way to contribute to a more open-minded society.

Well, i'll just say, Cable TV Stations should have free reign... i honestly believe that

But there a 4 or 5 channels that you don't have to pay for, those ones i think should have something controlling them... and those ARE ABC, FOX, NBC, CBS and PBS. I don't care, the FCC CAN censor them cause anyone can watch them. There shouldn't be nuddity or swearing on them. But the others... screw it... i've never understood the "Edited For Content" Movies... but that could even be a Ratings Issue... and it's not like Networks have their own censors. I never cared for FOX's censors...

But i mean, isn't there proof about the people of America... LOOK what happened at the super bowl? That's because "most" parents in america DON'T want that stuff on the air... that's why this is happening here.

I don't understand why i care? Do i watch what they censor? No... but i won't sign a petition that ends censorship...

Please Note, this is all coming from an Art Student....

I really am sorry that we have to share this country with some really stupid closed-minded people. Hopefully, we won't have to be governed by stupid closed-minded people much longer.

Hang in there.

I got news for you:

89 million Americans watched the Super Bowl.

250 thousand Americans called to complain.

Even if you assume that 10 times as many were offended, but didn't bother to complain (2.5 million), that is STILL less than 3% of the viewers. So a huge majority of people who saw the Super Bowl had no problem at all. But because the people who called in made sure to be REALLY pissed off, that's all you ever hear about. The FCC says stuff like "the country has spoken, and they say that this is unnacceptable", but when they say "the country", they mean 3% of Super Bowl viewers - and even a smaller amount of Americans in general. This country may be mostly conservative, but most of those conservatives had no problem seeing Janet Jackson's nipple covering. Her actual nipple wasn't shown at all. She had a small piece of plastic or something covering it.

I saw it as it happened. I was like "Oh, is that what I think it is? That's different. Was that supposed to happen?". And then I forgot about it. I didn't even remember it until I heard people talking on the radio the next morning. It went in one side of my brain, and out the other. BFD.
