well, to me the 'wild Dances' song sounds like Bulgarian 'Pop-Folk' aka 'Chalga'... so I can go for it out of nostalgy. But really, 'Chalga' is this horrific genre ... that is pretty 'weak' and 'simple'... but at the same time very catchy... and though most people wouldnt want to admit they listen to it (excluding the proud village men and so-called...'unintellectuals'), lots of people secretly sing along to it all over BG ... including me

not that i am singing along to the Wild Dances one... because it just sounds sooooo wrong in English - if you really can call that English da da daaaaaaa na nam lol

No, I actually have read that stuff about her childhood and family on an ESC site. And I also read Ukraine is building a brand new arena with capacity for about 15,000 people so it can host the 50th ESC next year and Ruslana was nominated the prime-minister's advisor on this area, she is the one who's gonna coordinate the show and so on - so we can expect a lot of wild things next year Also, this is a big thing for Ukraine, that's why they're spending the money on building a new arena, cause they wanna host the contest so they will use it as promotion to the country to see if they can show they are 'modern' enough to be accepted in the EU...

Really? I don't see Ukraine joining the EU, they are in the Russian sphere of influence. Personaly, i think that countries that were parts of the USSR (with the exception of the Baltic states of course) should not be admitted into the EU. For me, the former border of the USSR is where the EU enlargement to the east must stop.

And if anyone doesn't agree with me and want to reply, do it in the EU thread please, we wouldn't want to drag this thread off topic.
