katbeidar, I should really read it for myself, but I will take your word for it. I cannot believe how utterly silly that is!
It's crazy. Another reason to take the Bible with a huge grain of salt. Personally, I don't put any faith into the Bible anyways, seeing as how it was written by people and people have a habit of screwing up anything
Unless you've spoken to God personally, don't assume you know what his/her "word" is.
It's beautiful when people use their faith to help the needy and improve the world around them, but I don't see why "God" has to be a part of that process.
