I think you have following problem: Your harddisk and the partition table tell Partition Magic different values about the volume. So it doesn't touch the partitions. There is presumably an unallocated area which causes that problem. All windows partition managers I know produce this crap sometimes.
You may get rid of the problem with 'testdisk'.
