Furious fans of defunct boyband Busted made their former singer feel a proper Charlie when they pelted him with tomatoes. Charlie Simpson was appearing with his new band Fightstar at the Ambassador Theatre in Dublin when fans showed what they thought of him quitting Busted.

Busted fans - so mature.
While the image of Charlie Simpson getting pelted with rotten fruit is an amusing one, I am beginning to feel quite sorry for him.
I detested Busted immensely but Charlie gave up fame, fortune and adoration to persue what is important to him and give 100% to the music he truly believes in. Last time Busted came to Scotland they sold out the SECC - the biggest venue in Scotland - in 10 minutes. Now he's back with Fightstar and playing at King Tut's to about 150 people. How many guys would take such a massive step back when they could quite easily continue cruising down Easy Street for the rest of their lives?
I'm actually starting to feel a modicum of respect for young Charlie.
And - dare I say it - Fightstar aren't actually all that bad!
