After shooting the cinematic masterpiece in Belarus, Volkova will return to the studio to continue recording the vocal tracks of the single. Guess we will get it 'very soon'. :laugh:

I actually brought up this debate on there and while I did see some negative responses, there were also people that supported my argument. A lot of people just defended Julia immediately. I just think that if your official update says late August, it should happen in late August. If her official update said "soon", there would be no issue here. :)

It depends when exactly the information has been released and what happened since then. It's possible that the shooting of the movie came surprisingly sudden and so moved dates, or that people from the label told her to 'polish' the vocal tracks before release. A professional management is aware of false dates given, and corrects them in time, but we know that she doesn't even have a working one. Anyway, a postponement of a few weeks isn't a drama.

^ My memory is that Julia mentioned the movie before the press release emerged.

Anyway the official line is that August date came from the record label, and the decision to delay for further vocal recordings was made only in the last few days. It seems that she is expected to have time to commute back to Moscow for the recordings while the filming continues.

Looking back certainly Julia herself never mentioned anything other than "soon" in her more recent personal messages.

Anyway, it's not uncommon that two projects at the same time often stirr up dates. Wonder, who calls himself/herself Yuyla's manager at the moment. Probably nobody feels appointed. :D

No official word on identity of Russian manager but the fans who met her in Moscow, said she mentioned someone - I forget the name they gave it began with a B, but Schlachover and Tityanko seem to be out of the frame now as far as I can make out.

Ironically most of the publicity announcements seem to be coming from the English speaking side - the Russian fans seem to be getting official news via her English forums at the moment. It's not really clear what (if any) of a Russian speaking PR engine she has at the moment.

That is exactly my impression. Pretty much every information comes from overseas via the forums, a Russian PR management doesn't exist. :confused:

Not exactly on topic, but maybe interesting. Yulya's ex (maybe you remember - Parviz Yasinov) has been arrested for organizing an assault on the daughter of the ambassador Mihail Barschevskij.

It seems the people who really hate t.A.T.u. are the fans, this forum is proof of that. There is a fine line between constructive criticism or not agreeing with someone does and just plain insulting them and everyone here crosses that line a lot. Lena uploads a video of a puppy? Half the forum is going to call her lazy and accuse her of not working hard because she's not working 24 hours a day every day. New pictures of Yulia? Half the forum will call her and ugly b~tch because of her lips, or whatever else she's had done.

No new song? Complaints that the girls are unprofessional and aren't working hard enough
New song? Complaints about how terrible the song is

No news? Everyone says they don't care about their fans
News? People relentlessly criticize whatever the bit of news is about.

Slayer, you describe pretty much how the public reacts to everything. It's always either never enough or too much.... I can guarantee after the correspondence I just had many of these folks will be eating their words. totally unexpected stuff coming up. the delay seems definitely worth it ...

not really ... but i'm connected in ways to know that stuff is happening cause I may be involved down the line. It's work so I can't say anything else about it - other than that sometimes all this pessimism and outrageous negativity while I know their working their butts off, FOR YOU, is a little unnerving. But it's the nature of the business... it's just tough to acclimate to this high a publicity level for a project. famous clients - it's fun but stressful sometimes.

Don't charge others if you just mean yourself! :laugh: This forum has been pretty modest with criticism lately, so what's the reason for your cant? And 'constructive criticism' - two foreign words in a row with a meaning, purposeful like 'round corner' or 'true lie'...
Hypocrite would be if I don't like what I get, but glorify it, just because I am in a forum dedicated to an artist. You should learn to use foreign words correctly before you use them against other forum members here! I recommend 'Webster's New Encyclopedic Dictionary'.
Ok, to put it simple. It's only the product that counts in real business. If the customer is not satisfied he will complain. If I buy a new car and I have troubles with it all the time, I don't give a sh** if the guys worked their butts off, FOR ME, so unjust and heartless.

So, what do we have from Volkova the last couple of years or so? Two new boring songs under phonogram, with weak lyrics and uninspired arrangements, a few embarrassing appearances on some TV shows, one or two (very old) tatu songs in duet with another far more professional singer - playback again of course, a new lover who looks even more deranged than the former, and some face corrections which make her look like a porn star in her latest years of activity. I don't know if this is satisfying for a fan who is not a hypocrite. If her work progress doesn't show a significant move in some more promising direction, I would recommend to her what Artemij Troitskij did many years ago (Podnebesnaya) - take a rich guy and have many children, if she didn't already follow his advice.

So, now there is reason to complain about forum members' plain insulting, pessimism and outrageous negativity!

Julia is back in the studio tomorrow, recording new vocals for the single.

I'm surprised to see you lash out like this on, what is essentially, a 26 year old girl who left her former management and is trying, with no money, to do something with her career. Can we have no fucking benefit of the doubt? It doesn't matter how many times we say that she only released those demos because the fans were demanding to hear them. Julia only recorded them as essentially practice in the studio and her English. I was in the studio with her when they played Stand Up for her and the laundry list of changes she had, that were never made, was extremely long. As I said, it's tough with a high profile client because it's no longer this person i've never met before - this is someone i've had dinner with, sat on a couch with, talked on the phone with, emailed, worked with... and it's seems so fucking easy for ya'll to say these things. For me it's a bit more personal now... and I can see how for some old fans it still is. So let's just wait... for Julia and for her new management team it's learning game. We weren't fans of some well oiled machine - we were Tatu fans.... a band from Russia. I don't know why we ever expect any sort of stability... i'd also like to state that the amount I take any of the criticisms I see on these boards is very little. I understand and relate to where it all comes from - I merely have a new perspective now.

Haha Greg, that wasn't even a decent warm-up for a rant if I had the intention, just a hint how a real 'outrageous negativity' may look like, if it existed on this forum. :D

Nevertheless, the fact is that there is not much work progress visible at the moment. It's only natural that there is little positive echo from the fans. Yulya isn't an aging rock star, who has released already a dozen albums, with grey-haired fans who can wait a few more years for the next album. Her fans are young and not so patient, but if she can prove that she can do something worth the long waiting, the pessimistic mood will be gone.

I've seen her villa she currently lives with her goldhamster. I'm full of tears how far she has come down the social ladder. :p No, no! That argument doesn't count. I've seen people with really no money and no connection to the biz, who achieved much more in a two year period. There was a lot of engine idling in her solo career so far, and if she wants to become successful she needs some considerable speed-up of her train.

haha - i can admit the girl should've been working harder these past few months but in terms of these past two years i can put it anecdotally: We were interviewing her to get content for her website and I was heartbroken when i asked her if it was difficult being taken away from her children to work and she said something like 'no... i didn't get time to bond - they just went straight to my mom. now i want to be them to make up for that time.' of course it was said in much worse english... she's getting better there too. She's also been, apparently from my sources, been seeing a vocal coach to improve the damage to her voice. She has been working - on herself. I think someone who worked for 10 years like mad and with that much damage deserves some time to stop. Lena survived the ideal - if not with a bad bout of stockholm syndrome. Julia is recovering from a lot of bad mistakes ... some she's admitted to to those she cares to. It's not really the fans place to get that personal with her - but there's plenty to be excited about. You're going to hear it all really soon. I know the producers had dragged their feet in terms of the additional vocals - so i don't know what to think in terms of them finishing it - but it shouldn't be too long. I really don't know much cause there's some confusion about who's gonna get to do single artwork....

Those are probably small disco venues, but it's a little start and I hope she'll have fun. I don't know more than anybody else, but I guess it's true that Yulia wasn't very keen on working her ass off (starting in 2007 and Lena is very right if she recently stated that it is difficult to be with Yulia - Yulia knows that), but the situation seems a bit different now and after all, she should have fun doing what she does and then she can continue. Shooting the movie was a great experience for her and she'll figure out eventually if all that trouble for her solo singing career is worth it in the end. She has a lot of potential and she might be doing many things. But she needs to focus on one thing (that's the tricky part) and her team is doing a better job with the facebook page now. Let's see where they're heading to and if this little tour will be a success. If she really wants it, she will go for it, but in my impression she hasn't yet reached that state, she needs to be motivated and not forced. Pressure won't be very helpful.

I wonder how many of them will be cancelled at the last minute. Probably all?

Well, I'm going to see her! She's coming to my city and it's not going to be expensive. Of course I'd be going CRAZY if it was Lena, but it's still fine, I guess.

It's true what little polar bear said -- the venue isn't the biggest in my city, but it's still a very good one. But she's going to more important places in Rio and Sao Paulo. Also, people in Sao Paulo are VERY excited, it seems many of them are going to attend. In my city, however, I don't see the same excitement, but I still think there're going to be many people because I know many fans from all over my state.

Well, count on me to record it! I hope she does a great job. Good luck for her.

I think everyone knew she would sing t.A.T.u. songs. What a joke. I AM excited to hear Prostiye Dvizheniya though! :)

If both of them are going to just tour randomly and sing t.A.T.u. songs why don't both of them just join up again? Maybe if they take their new work and attempt it together we'll see something worth while.

Because the girls don't get along much anymore, which is a shame. Especially since Yulia can't sing anymore and if she's doing tATu songs how does she expect to get away with lip syncing Lena's parts? Oh, I know- she'll have the audience sing Lena's parts. And her own parts too. In fact, the entire tATu portion of the concert will be the audience singing while Yulia stands on stage.

I’m pleased Yulia will sing tatu songs. I hope she includes Nichya.
