Swedish journalists? mm.. u mean it's a collective rating? I read that hilarious rating one of ur journalists made lol He has a thing for food it seems :p

Anyway.. looks a bit wierd.. i mean Slovenia +? and Belorus ++++? And Denmark +++? I somehow think this guy(s) will be terribly frustrated in May...

spyretto 05-04-2005 18:21

Yeah Denmark - probably the worst song of the 39 - got 3 pluses, cause it's Denmark...this gives an indication of how the Swedish will be voting on the night.

So what's new sunny? I've noticed activity in the same topic of the Russian forum ;)

I meant to say Swiss, not Norway above. Norway is kitsch. So my opinion now very much approximates that of sunny's. And the best ballad - after Slovenia's of course, must surely be Latvia's - despite its syrupy style. So I definitely go for Eastern Europe again. Latvia is definitely this year's Norway - from a couple of years ago ( "I'm not Afraid To Move On")

It just doesn't look very good. Use PM for personal communication.

It was one journalist who published the rating, probably personal opinion - subjective then. I think we all will be surprised of the results in May. ;)

Hey :bum: but yeah.. the song sucks big time. I haven't had the guts to check for an possible english version of the song, but the danish one surely didn't strike me as a winner. In fact all songs in the danish contest this year weren't worth listening to.

I thought you said you didn't mind...Now it appears that you do again....so what's the deal?

If it was just one journalist it makes more sense.

Regarding deletion of posts yeah? I mind the times I click a notification only to find the post has been deleted :lalala: Plus it makes the posts between make less sense

spyretto 05-04-2005 19:08

Ok, since it's consensus thing, I guess I gotta respect the other members' wishes too... so no more deleted messages, and that's a promise :znaika:

spy, lol Nothing new in russian section. Some discussions about how many points we are gonna get from our now-orange brothers lol Also some were wondering if greek song was performed live during NF.

News of ESC.. hmm... seemes Cyprus is in trouble coz that cool female vocalist (the only thing that was giving this cheap song some spice) refused to go to Kiev for 'personal reasons'.

Moldova will be performing another version of the song in Kiev. The one u can hear in their preview video. It lost a lot of 'up beat' to be frank. Many say it was completely ruined.

Serbia decided their song was tooo boring and cut most of verses off. Now it's chorus they repeat again and again.

Estonians decided to invite one more girl to get loud with.

And something that never changes. Greece keeps leading in all polls possible. Some fans start to dislike her nose tho.. I mean it's some boring time after all songs are chosen and they NEED something to get busy with lol

teeny, no worries.. danish song got much better in english they say. It wont make to the final if there's any justice in this world but Ireland will be waaaaaay worse anyway :p Danish song isnt awful, just it's too old0fasioned to do any good Im afraid :bum:

spyretto 06-04-2005 00:16

Thanks for the update sunny...very much appreciated :)

Greece leading all polls is symptomatic of the evident decline in musical taste that permeates our society
At least some radio dj's in Greece are refusing to play the song. ;)

Use common sense. No I don't mind but it doesn't look good at all, or does it?

I'll have to check the songs later. I personally didn't hear any, except maybe of Russian and Swedish entries. It's still difficult to judge out of the promo videos. Stage performance on the big night can make a huge difference - we all know that.

spyretto 06-04-2005 14:38

It doesn't look good and I promised I won't do it again. What more do you want from meeeeeeee  :p

About ESC I'm looking forward to reading your expert opinion :)

well, i've finally heard all the songs, the ones that caught me the most were Iceland, Slovenia, and my favorite at the moment, Austria... i also surprisingly like Malta's song, even though it's incredibly corny... but the lady has a nice voice and delivers well, i can also see a really good vocal performance that would probably stand out with the show boating of this years entries. I also enjoy hungary's nox, but for the dancing in the video... not so much the song. haha.

of course the list of songs i can't stand to listen to are great (Especially Germany's song, that's painful!..). this year the songs aren't nearly as comical though, Belarus and Finland's entries last year are still in my friends comic repretoir hahah, we like to sing "the angels and devils side by side" a lot

I imagine the performance of Bosnia's song is going to horrendous, there's no way those girls will be able to sing those harmonies live... and they'll try... and it will be aweful.

my perspective thoughts, if i could vote, i'd vote for Iceland and Austria most likely ( i really dig Austria's song )

coolasfcuk 09-05-2005 16:46

so when is the contest again? :lady:

forre 09-05-2005 16:48

19th and 21th of May.

forre 12-05-2005 19:45

Bookmakers' Top 10

1. Greece
2. Norway
3. Hungary
4. Switzerland
5. Iceland
6. Malta
7. Bosnia-Herzegovina
8. Sweden
9. Netherlands
10. Romania

Rehearsals are still to come.

Norway, Iceland and Netherlands had their first rehearsal today. All sounded well enough and Norway managed to wake up the crowd, which is a good sign.

P.S. If Hungary wins, I'll finish to watch Eurovision. I don't want this ethno-folk-rock SHIT to ever win Euro again.

thegurgi 12-05-2005 20:03

what time is the contest... i need to figure out what time it will be here where am I.

I'd rather have Hungary win than Greece ... that song is vapid "your my lover undercover?" ... how original.
