It's not over by any means though. Gaudio knows his opponent is not 100%

And Coria's struggling again!

transcend 06-06-2004 17:16

Vamos Guillermo!

spyretto 06-06-2004 17:20

What on earth is the BBC doing? Broadcasting the match with 2-3 minutes delay? No, more like 10 minutes delay :bebebe:
No respect for the license payers, tsc tsc

I think we're gonna have a 5th set thriller

spyretto 06-06-2004 17:34

Two points away from championships for Guillelmo

I don't know what happened but if I were Gaudio I'd be damn p***ed :bum:

spyretto 06-06-2004 17:40

Coria...no, Gaudio..no wait, Coria again.

No, it's definitely Gaudio ;)

forre 06-06-2004 17:48

Oh-ho! What a nightmare but Gaudio actually won against all odds! What was his ranking? 44th or something? Mamma-mia! Fantastic!

spyretto 06-06-2004 17:49

Gaston the champion, and he saved two match points on the way.

What a bizarre game that was! :D

transcend 06-06-2004 18:02

Extraordinary.

Sounds like it was a killer match. I'll have to check the highlights tonight. Go Gaston Gaudio! (cool name)

It is - you don't get many Gastons these days. My younger cousin's new American girlfriend's name is cool too - Verity Bishop. I like it so much, I think I'm going to steal it for one of the characters in my screenplay.

taty994945 12-06-2004 11:05

Verity Bishop sounds fantastic!

Roddick plays Hewitt at Queens tonight. Should be a good match.

taty994945 14-06-2004 09:28

These are the Wimbledon odds I can get. So who should I bet on? :D

dont bet on agassi ...

Former champion Andre Agassi has pulled out of Wimbledon to rest a lingering hip injury.
The 1992 winner said in a statement he hoped to return in 2005.

"In my preparation for Wimbledon I realised the injury was only worsened by the nature of the surface and would prevent me from competing," he said.

rosh, thanks for that. :p Poor Agassi, he'll be back and he'll win!

transcend 18-06-2004 17:34

Damn! Agassi's withdrawal has blown my £5 each-way 240-1 double on Mauresmo/ Agassi. Ach! I need another bet to cover my losses...any ideas?

taty994945 19-06-2004 00:32

i guess you can go with federer....crappy odds though :(

rosh 25-06-2004 13:26

Another Wimbledon and another dose of Henmania...is over for another year! Thank fuck for that! Well played Super Mario! And Amelie is going to crush Serena tomorrow....no really!....No, REALLY!...You just wait and see...

Tom Violence 01-07-2004 01:10

Henman looked like he was about to burst into tears throughout the entire match today. He has no discernable spirit, or, indeed, personality.

Much though I would like an English winner at Wimbledon, when I watch Henman I invariably find myself supporting his opponent.

I tipped Davenport and Federer to win this year, with both still in by Thursday of the second week I'm not doing too badly.

I'm with you on Roger - my male-player "fetiche" but I think Lindsay would be a bit of a disappointing winner in the women's. Don't get me wrong - she's a good player and likeable enough but the women's champion should have more to offer - an all-court game, the ability to volley really well and that little bit of finesse....a bit like, well....Amelie Mauresmo! ;) Bon courage for this afternoon Amelie - on y croit toujours!
