Well, last year I said
Quote:
my New Years Resolutions are:

* get out more and try to meet new people
* drink less (or, at least, don't drink alone so much)
* be a bit more self-confident
* try and act my age for once in my life
* take a bit more pride in my appearance (simply running some gel through my hair doesn't count!)

And finally - the most important resolution of all - GET A GIRLFRIEND!!!!! If I don't manage to do this by the end of the year I may as well give up all hope!
I didn't exactly fulfill all of those ideals.
I have been getting out more. I've been to 7 gigs this year. And for a while back in the Spring/Summer I was out in town every Saturday night.
I failed the "drink less" test, that's for sure.
I'm not doing any better in the "self-confidence" department either.
The same goes for "acting my age".
I have been taking more pride in my appearance.
Not that it matters cos, for yet another year, I've remained completely and utterly alone. Jane provided me a small respite from my perpetual misery but it didn't last long.

For now...

x Leaving my dad
x Moving out (with my mom & brother)
x Sort out my goddamn 'relationship'
x Make new friends
x Get myself a digital camera (!)
x Do something radical
x Get more money (that's gonna be easy )

x CHANGE MY LIFE

Lemme just say, I don't believe in resolutions, they're just something that keeps us alive, "hope". But it's entertaining at least.

Hmmm...

1) Be nice to people and not say they are boring. (Must never forget!)
2) Lose weight. (10 points for originality)
3) Finish paying off my credit card debt.
4) Start smoking.
5) Visit a few friends I haven't seen in a few years just to say hi and promptly return home.\
6) Continue with my foreign language studies of Japanese and German. Maybe, even learn proper Spanish and do away with the crap I speak now.
7) Start getting myself to bed at a decent hour.
8) Fly a kite.

I wrote those as they came to mind, pay no attention to the oder they are in.

I will forget my dreams
Nothing is what it seems
I will effect you
I will protect you
From all the crazy schemes

You traded in your wings
For everything freedom brings

You never left me
You never let me
See what this feeling means

You want to start smoking? Most people try to give up for New Years.
The kite thing is confusing me too.

who are you dressing for ? you or the rest of the world ? [think about this]

you should be doing what you do, for you. taking pride in your appearance can boost self confidence and self confidence is very attractive -- if youre trying to bag someone.

but self confidence is a great thing to do for yourself as well, it can lead to greater self happiness and inner contentedness.

now im going to stop sounding like a self help book.

i do think you should be making changes FOR YOU and not for other people. if you feel something youre doing in your life is no longer working for you, or doesnt feel right, or just shouldnt be there anymore, then change for you.

Well I was right. 2004 was just the same as 2003, except more extreme in the good and especially the bed. I did see the new continent though. It doesn't smell of money though. More like smog and french fries.

This is what I wrote this year in that thread that got closed:

At least I have some goals now. But I must admit. Last year, around this time, I was feeling way less crappy then this year.

Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

That's a nice resolution!

Oh I also came up with some more...

x Get higher grades... and I REALLY must do this. I failed some subjects this year, and I was close in failing all of the rest. I've been trying so hard, but I had such a bad time - I really hope next year is better.

x Lose weight, or at least get fit.
OH GOD, I do sound like the teenage girl that I am.

I'm considering getting fit aswell though. Either that or gain weight, but getting fit sounds easier, since I'm in the group stuggeling to gain weight

Yeah.. Or at least the get fit part... 'cause I've got fat in the wrong places. But since muscle weighs more than fat, then I could maybe gain some weight or something and yet look better in my eyes.

coolasfcuk, not even shave your armpits?

EeZeeReal, whatever. A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do, or something along those lines.

coolasfcuk, oookay @ the lizard skin. That's... strange! But whatever floats your boat. I used to wax my legs, but then I ran out of wax and were going to wear short pants so.... even though nobody really cares about my hairy legs. I shave my armpits though (why am I still talking about body hair?).

EeZeReal, but only if you had the money, right?

Oh and in 2005, I'm doing what Mossopp did this year, take more pride in my appearance... God, it's like I'm becoming obsessed! First losing weight, now this. But it's kind of the only thing you have real control over...
