Who wouldn't be? We have pretty much the same monitors. I mean, size wise as well as LCD wise.

I have a PowerMac G4, i bought it with an Apple 17" CRT (LCDs were just too expensive at the time).

A few years later i decided to replace my CRT with an LCD, but Apple's line of LCDs used (and still do) an ADC interface which my computer doesn't have (it has DVI and VGA). So i bought a Sony which is always my next choice after Apple for monitors.

BTW, Apple is going to release a new line of LCD monitors with an aluminium enclosure in a few months, they will use DVI again (and therefore be PC compatible). They will all be wide screen (16:10) LCD monitors and available in three sizes:
20" - 1680x1050
23" - 1920x1200
30" - 2560x1600

I'm psychotic with monitors. I can't stand LCD and I can't stand big ones.
I had a Proview 15'' for 3 years , I had an EIZO for a while and now I have a Proview 17''.

How can you stand those LCD ones? I've tried a few ones, their angle viewing is appaling, most of them don't have a tilt base to move the screen, so you literally have to stick your nose in front of the monitor, otherwise you get that LCD effect and the pictures just get distorted. Colors are not right and you can't get a decent contrast with them. You can't play any games with them unless you move in slow motion.

I suppose if you paid a few thousand bucks you'd get a good one but I can't afford it and it's not worth it anyway. They can be pleasant to the eye and very slick and economical but I'm very fussy with the picture quality I get from a monitor and I can't stand limitations like these.

So I'll never have an LCD monitor. I prefer a cheap CRT to a cheap LCD. I hope they invent another technology to tackle limitations like these in the future.

CRT fan - sticking with the old and best -

Well.. I'm on the Fujitsu-Siemens notebook, so monitor is kinda forced upon me either way.
It's a 15" LCD, and guess it's a Fujitsu? Never cared much for hardware so I don't really know for sure. Resolution: 1024x768.

Well on the one I'm on right now it's a 21" CRT.. I am not a huge fan of neither CRT or LCD, but I agree with spyretto in that LCDs are terrible for gaming and in general are more faulty, so I'm stuck with a CRT.. I'm waiting for better technology to develop.. My resolution is 1280 x 1024 pixels..

I have two monitors with my two headed Radeon right now. Both are flat screen CRT's .The first one - NEC Multisync FE700 and the second is LG Flatron 710b. LG is good for gaming and 3d applications... but NEC with Trinitron technology brings tremendous quality in 2D ... my point of view is that the optimal choice right now is 19/21 inch Eizo Nanao, Sony Trinitron, Mitsubishi Diamondtron or NEC Multisync series monitor with aperture grilll technology

I have a good old Hyundai Flat CRT 17'. I think the shadow effect with games and video that spyretto's been talking about is pretty much sorted out in newer models - at least I didn't notice and irregularities in the ones I've see. My problem with the LCDs is the high level of defects. I saw 3 LG Flatrons LCSs with dead pixels... one was replaced on warranty and the replacement had dead pixels AS WELL. I guess the technology is still not safe for mass-production after all these years. Not to mention the fact that I have my monitor turned on like 17-20 hours a day. I don't think the fragile electronics of todays LCDs would be up to the chalenge. So I'll wait for the next technology cause of reliability issues mostly.
