Very Curious :: E-Mail from Yulia@t a t y.ru ::

I actually had a leap in my stomach seeing this in my Yahoo! Mail Account an e-mail from Yulia@t a t y.ru.
But my first thought was, i never e-mailed Yulia@t a t y.ru,
i've NEVER tried e-mailing Yulia [i have tried Shapovalov, the Administration of the Russian Website and a secret lady and Lena but NEVER Yulia].

My second thought, before opening was, it's called "Re:Re: My Details." Which made me think, for there to be a "Re:Re:" it means i would have had to reply back to something she would reply to me, and i reply to that." Also the "My Details" is completely out of nowhere.

My 3rd is, it has an attachment, and no offense to Yulia, but i doubt she know how to do this.

So i open the E-mail to find this very simple statement: Please see the attached file for details.

So what do you think? Should i open the Attached File? What if it's a virus?! Is someone using her e-mail to attack me?

Input please.

Nah I wouldn't open it.
Maybe it's some Tatu fan sending viruses :P

There is a website where you can fake email addresses and send emails to people pretending you are somebody else.

I forgot the URL and just logged in on MSN to see if my friend who has the URL was online, but sadly he wasn't.

When I do get the URL, I'll post it.

Plus, all those "See attachement for details" and "Re:Re" stuff are probably fake..

Curiousity overwhelmed me.

Like the POLL would change anythoughts i had.

The attachment was text attachment that stated this: Please see the attached file for details.

so.... yeah. hahaha

as previously said to CRNI
My theory is this

:: fantasy :: Yulia, being Computer Iliterate, meant to send me a very informative Attached file, but instead attached the very e-mail she was sending me along with the actual e-mail. Silly girl. :: end fantasy ::

That would make you a very lucky guy! Perhaps she could improve her email skills before sending attachments. Still, very odd email... hope it's not a virus. curiosity killed the computer.

Too right Onewinged.
Don't open it.
Most likely someone with that name in their address book is infected.
Not neccesarily Julia.

Never open attachments if you are in any doubt whatsoever about their authenticity.
You wanna screw-up your computer on the off-chance that Julia Volkova sent you an email? C'mon - what are the odds of that?!
Just delete it.

If you're getting mails with an attachment that has about 100 k it is 100% the worm that is infiltrating pc's right now.
Do not open it - delete it.

People People! I already checked the attachment. It was less than 1 KB of space! It was a TEXT file! You don't think i'm stupid enough to not run it through a virus tester like MacAffee. YAHOO! does that for you anyway

:: grrr :: why do people tell me things i already know ::

just kidding

There are different possibilities :
- we do care so much about you that no matter what we give you advices
- we think 'cause we are dumb ourselves the other ones have to be dumb as well
- we are bored and need something to do

You can choose...

hey...I got one from Lena

and it said the same thing -- see the attached file for details, but in actuality, there was no file attached (thank god). If something were attached to it, I still wouldn't have opened it And my hotmail account is scanned by McAffee automatically too. So...I guess you're not the only one getting these weird e-mails. But, in the end, I just deleted it...thinking something screwy happened with someone's address book.
BTW...who would put Lena and Yulia's address in their address book?

I've been gettin a shitload of those "Re: My Details" emails.. from like random peope i know but have never emailed and are not in my address book. It's weird. I tried openning one and my virus protector wouldn't let me open it. I'd say don't do it.
