exactly - you NEVER know... the then HOT Europ champs got crushed by Albania?!

So you never know when it comes to football.. i am hopping Croatia went and drank too much those days, celebrating what they think is their almost sure tix to the World Cup and so... Malta scores 1 fast surprising goal and goes into DEEP catenaccio! Either way, you cant blame me for rooting for Malta on Wed!

I hope it doesnt happen again

I didnt mean they thought Iceland might win.. I meant, because they are now the only ones undefeted... and playing Malta makes it easy to underestimate ...

Well, It happened a bit like this: Greece was "in the sky" from winning the Euro 04, in fact it was the first official game after that...Then the Albanians are good at home..they're not a bad team, most of Albanians play in the Greek league, so they have experience of Greek football. Such an easy group for the European champions

well, i don't follow the other games so don't really know...
but since bulgaria is in total mess, and hungary plays home, i guess something like 1:0 or 2:1...
sorry, coolz, but bulgaria seems like it's drowning and needs a huge reorganization to start all over and get back on the right track

yeah it seems that's the Bulgarian team's problem...cause otherwise they got a good team, good players and all, only no organisation.

hmmm, both of you say that... but, this comes after our FIRST lost since the Euro ... and it was a lost to Sweden - a team that obviously we CANNOT beat .. for the last over 40 years!

Our team didnt play bad ... from what i heard/read .. am about to see the game soon (after my brother sends the tape he recorded for me) ... we just always 'loose it' with Sweden.
But ever since the catastrophy in Portugal, the team has been revived - there are only about 3-4 people left from that Euro team ... and we dont play BAD - look, Croatia couldnt beat us in Zagreb after you were 2:0 lead at the half time! Since Stoichkov has been a coach we've had 6 wins, 1 draw and finally 1 lost ... i wouldnt say that makes our team a mess .... besides imagine that: for the Sweden game we had 5 major starter players out of our team -S. Petrov, M. Petrov, Bojinov, Hristov, and a defender - 4 of our 5 international/strongest players!

I know thats not a solid excuse ... but i must disagree with your views.

Lets see what happens on Wed and then we will know more.. we will still be without 2 or our main players - Bojinov and Hristov, and the red carded defender.... but thats WAY better than half your team missing!

mmmm..... maybe sweden is mystery to bulgaria... but they're not that tough since we have beaten them in sweden...
and 2:0 to 2:2 is typical balkan mentality of our team, which shouldn't have happen...
but best is to leave it for now, and we'll be here on wednesday, during and after the game/s and see who got it right this time

yes, but i meant in that PARTICULAR game croats showed the balkan side of their play while bulgarians showed (untypical for this "area") almost german mentality... you know, fight till the final whistle

well, I am here for another reason.. i am excited that finally Stoichkov is showing how we are intending to play: 3-4-3

(its been loooooooooooong since our 'Golden' age in '94 when we played with 3 fwds - Stoichkov-Penev-Kostadinov!) ... its just too bad that one of the 3 fwds now is Ivanov instead of bojinov, who i think was in such great form before he so STUPIDLY injured himself!

..ok, im off to take my 'calm me down' pills ... i think football isnt good for me - this is coming from a prefious MEGA never-miss-a-game-at-the-stadium fan
