Tatu and Stockholm Pride

Well, this has something to do with Tatu, but since it isn't news and is mostly a story I thought I'd post it in the general forum The weekend of Stockholm Pride was a while ago, but I thought it was kind of interesting because by chance I went to what I think was one of the main events, an all-lesbian night, and came across Tatu's music twice.

When I was travelling in Stockholm a few weeks ago I met a girl who was there on vacation - btw, for the most part straight people think I'm gay and gay people think I'm straight - I don't know how that works Anyway she was hitting on me (although I was so tired that I didn't realize this until later ) but then later she decided I was straight, and it didn't make any difference to me so I let her think what she wanted. In any case she asked me if I wanted to come with her and some Swedish friends of hers to "a couple of bars or something" and since I didn't have any other plans I said sure. In fact it was a huge party the Thursday of Pride weekend with hundreds and hundreds of women dancing, talking, drinking, singing karaoke, and generally going wild

Where Tatu comes in: at midnight there was a live show, complete with drag kings - girls dressed as guys - they were good, you know, I was impressed. They did a lot of erotic numbers...and as I watched I realized gradually that it was full-blown on-stage pornography and was wondering how in the world I managed to just walk into this (I was really lucky: my "date" asked me if I minded that she brought me here - since after all she just said "a couple of bars" and that's a far cry from what it actually was - and I said, no, of course not. After all, I don't want to be like Ivan and never see "real lesbians" And if I can't see them in Stockholm at a huge women-only bash during Pride weekend I don't think I ever will) and then they did one using TATU's Show Me Love with vague S&M themes and two girls acting like guys dressed in short skirts, blouses and ties. And at first I couldn't believe it , and then I thought it was hilarious , and then I thought, hey, great why not?

Then later on the dance floor they played Ne Ver' Ne Boisia - they played almost all kinds of music; they had several dance floors - the song they played right after it was "Tu es foutu," I remember. When they started to play it I was thrilled, since I'd thought everyone who's not Greek had forgotten about that song a long time ago...although I looked to see what everyone else around me thought of it, and they were pretty blasй; it wasn't a great success. It was cool though.

I realize this doesn't mean that Tatu's really popular with lesbians - you can use almost any song for drag shows, I think, and I'm guessing the same's true for erotic/porn as well - but I was excited because it seemed like at least they didn't hate them and they obviously knew who they were because they were dressed in the outfits. So Tatu had a small but definite presence at this large lesbian party; I just thought I'd share

Oh, I hope I would be there! I just love those drag kings/queens! Some of them are really handsome by their looks and their acting skills, wow, they are amazing good actors/actresses. I have seen them only on television, so I really envy you russkayatatu!

OH how tatu had such an influence on anywhere near US fans... i can't speak for major cities/clubs cause hell, i live in what is a huge patch of corn.

But to answer your question, I think everyone there was a lesbian, the dancers included And it was a porn show for lesbians, since that was the audience I don't think I've ever seen so many women in one place, much less so many lesbians, so it was definitely an experience...and fun, lots of fun, sure, why not? queenbee, LOL - that's all I can say *shakes head*
