Esc 2004

Hi there

Without Tatu there might be little interest in this topic...however

Anybody would like to recommend a ESC 2004 song? I've listened to only a handful of songs but I tip "Stronger Every Minute" by Lisa Andreas ( Cyprus entry )

Hope it wins

Such a nice song and beautiful voice...quite a surprise from Cyprus, cause we usually send crap

oh about Rouvas and the Greek entry...no comments

Haven't heard many of the songs yet. Didn't even get to see the Danish contest, when it aired since I was at the cinema at the time.
Heard the russian entry though and from the little preview I heard I didn't really like it much. Perhaps I'll like it better after a few times or it may be better live. Looking forward to not really having a favourite this year.. LOL. Last years votings almost killed me

The only entry I've heard is Britain's - 'Hold Onto Our Love' by Fame Academy 2 reject James Fox. It's crap.
Anyone else think we're heading for another "nil points" this year?!

don't know about the other songs, but the croatian one just sucks
that's totally not the song that could do any good at the contest...in fact, i don't believe we'll even pass the pre-contest...but who cares anyway

I don't know who France is sending this year, and i don't intend to find out LOL. I watched the ESC last year only because Tatu were there.

I'm rather excited about Eurovision, cause i'll be in Europe during the time.

And being Non-European... it's a new concept to me, and i find it interesting.

I really Like Ukraine, Swedens and Estonia's entries....

And i want everyone out there to watch this video for the Albanian entry and laugh like mad : http://www.keithm.utvinternet.ie/Albania04.wmv

it's really funny, watch the dancers.....

http://www.keithm.utvinternet.ie/2004finals.htm

that site has some good Eurovision 2004 media

thegurgi, haha, I'm gonna have to show that to my Albanian friends! Then again, they might laugh at me when it comes to Poland I can't hear the song, but I can see the video and WHAT is THAT?!

And about Sweden's enty.. What the girl does to the microphone stand while singing "It hurts, it hurts", well, it reminds me of..

I liked my country's (Poland's) entry last year though, I liked the song and the guy had a scratchy voice. Scratchy voices for me are like redheads for Haku.

Which reminds me... For Haku. Redheads!

mda, I am not a Eurovision fan, only really know about it because of t.A.T.u. , if you notice Bulgaria is probably the only Euro country not participating at all

anyways, since i have a think for the swedish/swedes, ive only heard the swedish entry, and at its original swedish version, which i now hear is going to be performed in English at Eurovision which would totally ruin the nice sound of the vocals.

anyway, to see Sweden's video performance of the song in sweish (thanks to forre):

copy&paste: http://svt.se/svt/jsp/Crosslink.jsp?d=11449

on the right side click on: 'Se finalisternas upptradanden'

When the window opens click on: 'Lena Philipsson' (she is the 7th performar, as far as i understand - those are all swedish finalists, and she is the one that won)

edit: forgot to add: you should see 'After Dark' as well - what a transvestite show and she looks so great in Pink

Bet on Ukraine, Sweden or Belgium. I'll go for Ukraine, 'cause I think it will win the whole thing. *I'm not kidding*

Bet on Sweden. She should win except if Ukraine wins.....but both are good so no problem...
And may be Russia will be in the 5 "first"...i don't know to say that in english...i mean 3rd or 4th or 5th....
If Belgium wins if that the jury hasn't the same tastes than me...

"Top 5" I think..

I haven't heard much of the songs yet. From the little I did hear I think Russia is the best. Then again I've only heard Denmark, Russia, Sweden and UK.

So I went and listened more (because of you talking about it) - even though I am not a Eurovision person and .. OMG I hear Ukraine and Belgium!
forre, Ill go with you - Ukraine is pretty nice. I always liked Sweden's, but onlyl when it was in Swedish - I dont know about the English version..... but Ukraine!!!! Eh haaaaaaaaaaaaaa I didnt know Ukraine had so much eastern influences. If you had just plaied me the song i could have bet money that it is Bulgarian, or at least something from the Balkans .... it has that Chalga sound to it - and I have to admit usually Eurovision songs I cant listen to the whole thing - they boreeeeee me, but that one is the 3rd one I've listened to the whole thing (watched the video) - the other 2 being Tatu's and Lena Philipssons lol

So im gonna have to say - Im liking Ukraine even more than Sweden now - cause it has that sounds that 'smells' like home to me.

And now i wonder why isnt Bulgaria participating in the contest with some of our Chalga singers - I bet you the western world finds them really exotic and would like them:

maybe Malina should participate - audio samples on the left .. or maybe Anelia

Edit: I know its a bit off top, but you just have to see this that would've been our winner!!!! ha ha ha our Fat-Gipsy-Transvestite Chalga singer called Azis ! Here is a video sample of performance by him - talk about RIPPING-OFF Madona-Britney-and Christina from that VMA in the wedding dresses and the kiss - Azis is playing Madonna

I'll probably watch it this year as well.
I heard a couple of them , Russian and UK including ... no one of them good .
It's not the problem with vocalist , dancers or appearances ...it's just lack of a really decent song ! The most of them that i heard is such an old mundane crap .....Never been fan of ESC anyway ...

p.s. one more redhead ( just for the hell of it ! )

Belgium seems to have a good promo with scandals, etc. All the attributes. So the top field is getting clearer, Sweden - out. Belgium and Ukraine are left. Anyway, Ukraine needs to qualify technically. That's to be decided in a few hours.

Live web broadcast of the semi-final can be watched here - http://eurovision.tiscali.com/

The midact will feature a short movie where ABBA-dolls would play the main parts. Real ABBA-members take part in that clip too but playing bi-roles. Just for the record, of course.
