0newinged, Shenmue rocked my world!!! It was IMPOSSIBLE to finish. IMPOOOOSSIBLE. But the game play was so well thought out it seems they spent YEARS planning every caracter's actions.
And if my favorite RPG should give me my forum name, I'd so be Link. Adult Link. *Wants to be Adult Link. *_*...* |

Yes, because I never had a Dreamcast and some of the games they developed there were so cool in the arcades. ( like Virtual Tennis, for example. )
And while on PS there was a time when some great adventure/RPG games like FFVII,MGS,Tail Concerto came out, there was a total drought of decent games afterwards. But on the DC for the little while it was around they had games like Shenmue, Phantasy Star Online and others as you very well said. I've given up on console games...the only thing to rekindle my interest is if the games were to be interactive and in real time, because spending hours on end in a repetitive game seems to me a bit of a waste of time Sega was supposed to be developing the Shenmue series for the X Box...what happened to it? |

New Dicking Cream!
|
.?.
I got started with the Atari 2600. Loved Defenders, Pole Postion, and Q-bert. I shouldn't say this but I owned E.T. I still have the cartridge.
My most memorable moments were with the NES. I still have my Power Glove! C'mon, it was in the movie, The Wizard! |

cool thread darje :D
The first video game I ever played was at my Uncle's house, and he had a Nintendo. It was Mario Bros. But the first game console my family ever bought was the Sega Master System God, I loved that thing! I was the bomb at Space Harrier, Shinobi, pretty much all of the gun games (like Duck Hunt)
Man...I still love video games. We followed the Sega systems up until the Sega Genesis. Then, we waited until the Playstation came out, and stuck with Sony ever since One game I can never grow tired of -- Grand Theft Auto 3, or Vice City. Oh yeah...favorite PC game -- The Sims and its expansion packs |

At the NES the game we still play when we have a chance to play a 2-player game is Street Gangs. But the idea of the game is to fight the gangs instead of eachother.. can't claim we followed the rules at all.. not for long periods of time at least. |

O_o Shinobi III? ;_; A classic.
The oldest console I have in my closet is an Atari Jaguar, predecesor to the Game Boy and Sega's huge stuff thingy. I intend to have it repaired because it has too much sentimental value and for all I know, it's a relic. My brother and I went through every Nintendo gaming system. The NES, the SNES, the N64, the original Game Boy, Game Boy Color (I even had the Pikachu edition XD). As soon as we realized the N64 was too expensive for us, I bought the PSx and was grandly dissapointed. Sold the PSx and helped my brother buy the N64. We're not intending to buy the GameCube, thought. So, who else is a fan of Zelda around these places? XP |

Comin in late here...
I am a big fan of Zelda. I also agree that Ocarina of Time was the best out of the entire Zelda series, and is quite an incredible game. I am a fan of N64, I think it was actually the best console released by Nintendo (better than Gamecube!; well, maybe not, but the games definitely were better) and I had almost all. But darje, do you have Pikmin plushies??? |

At last someone with some sense! I also agree that the N64 is better than the GameCube.
No, I don't have Pikmin plushies, but I once saw one in a convention. Sadly, I was pennyless. I MUST buy more. XP |

It's true what someone said about games being a lot shorter these days. 'Super Mario World' took bloody ages to complete cos there were so many secrets and hidden levels and alternate routes through the game. If you wanted to collect all the keys and finish the Star Road it took forever!
This was cool though cos you got totally immersed in the game. So many new games are so short that you've finshed them before you have a chance to really get involved in them. I got the 'Scooby Doo' game for my GBA and I finished it in about 4 hours! And new games don't seem to have much replay value either. With the exception of 'Klonoa :Empire of Dreams' and 'Monkey Ball', none of the games I've bought recently have been engaging enough to make me want to play them again after I've completed them. Yet I still play pretty much all of my old SNES games to this day - 10 years after I first got them!! |

Do they even cure you... or is it just to humour us before we die? |

I loved Super Mario. That's the only game I know and played. I never wanted any others cause I knew I would get addicted.
