Federer is out ( vs. Kuerten). Hmmm .. it's becoming all open and interesting.
Any predictions for a winner?

Davenport is out too (vs. Dementieva). Hmm ... Williams sisters and Mauresmo are left. Looks like we have those 3 ladies to be the contenders for a title this year.

Edit:
Costa followed the fate of Federer.

Draws for quarterfinals:

Gustavo Kuerten BRA vs. David Nalbandian ARG
Gaston Gaudio ARG vs. Lleyton Hewitt AUS
Carlos Moya ESP vs. Guillermo Coria ARG
Tim Henman GBR vs. Juan Ignacio Chela ARG

Paola Suarez ARG vs. Maria Sharapova RUS
Amelie Mauresmo FRA vs. Elena Dementieva RUS
Anastasia Myskina RUS vs. Venus Williams USA
Jennifer Capriati USA vs. Serena Williams USA

I put a four-fold accumulator:

Myskina to beat Capriati
Dementieva to beat Suarez

I was almost 100% sure the two Russians would reach the final. Congratulations!

Now for the tough part: 3rd is Henman to lose 3-0 -sorry guys- and

the toughest of all: 4th is Gaudio to beat Nalbandian

Hope my claivoyant skills will work for the mens as well as they did for the womens.

I think you've blown it with part 4 of that accumulator, spyretto - sorry! I'm still pissed about Amelie - yes, Dementieva came out all guns blazing but bordel woman, it was all set up to be your year! Paola Suarez in the semis? The whole of France willing you on? Merde, merde, merde! I might have a bet on Amelie for Wimbledon though...yes, it's true - a fool and their money are easily parted.

As for the men, I'm supporting David Nalbandian. I just don't like Coria, there's just something about him. Mais enfin, bon, I'm still pissed about Amelie. Why, why, why, why?

Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention, if I'd been one of the 'lucky' people to have bought tickets for the women's semi-finals, I'd have asked for my money back - those two matches were so piss-poor it was embarrassing, the worst advert for women's tennis in a long time. I'm supporting Myskina in the final, just because Dementieva beat Amelie in the semi . Why, why, why, why?

transcend, maybe next year for Amelie eh?

I hope Henman kicks Coria's ass, and wins the title. I wouldn't bet on it though.

Women's final....two sexy russians sweating it out...yeah!

I blew it because of greediness. Tim won a set! Darn!

Myskina or Dementieva? Who's playing better? I want to get my revenge on the bookies, guys

It's my fault taty994945. I was about to place an outright win for Coria but I was tempted by the 1.80 the 3-0 paid. I also wanted Tim to win but we knew it wasn't gonna happen If I were a bit more intelligent I could have opted for the 3-1, since Tim is playing the best tennis of his career and put on a brave fight against Coria. Never mind, next time

Myskina is my choice too but I don't like the fact that she's favourite. If she was outsider I'd go for her, but now I'll probably watch the final without worries

Yep - just about the worst women's final since Steffi Graf creamed Natasha Zvereva 6-0 6-0 about ten/fifteen years ago. Elena Dementieva goes up in my estimation for speaking French rather well, though . I can't see Gaudio beating Coria tomorrow - I was shocked he beat Nalbandian so easily. Coria is so quick around the court, he must be a nightmare to play against. Ah well, roll on Wimbledon!

P.S. Hard luck with that bet, spyretto! Close, but no cigar.
