A Greek Song - Help
So, I would've put this in search-Xchange, but since it isnt Russian, I am putting it here.
This is a thread with Help request. During the summer of 2003 they constantly played a greek, dancy song all over the place in Bulgaria, but i have NO idea who sings it or what it's called. I found a little 30 sec segment of it on my camcorder, which got taped while we were at a Bar. Here is the link: http://s19.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=2...T17DUJRP6L8OWZ (excuse my cousins friend who are totally distorting the sound ) Maybe somone can recognize it and give me titles/llinks? I HAVE to have it .. for 'nostalgic' purposes. Phonetically the lyrics are somthing like: "Te Moro... blah blah... sagapo" LoL spy, you seem to know all the Greekness - help? edit: now, that i re-watched the clip, I think they also say: "deso" or something in the lyrics, because one of those girls nickname is Deso and they are serenating her with "Deso, sagapo" which with my limited greek knowledge means: "Deso, i love you" can you tell, i am having my Greek week |

edit: what? LoL no its only one song, but at the end you can only hear the instrumental part, as while the singer is singer the 'girles' are screaming over her edit2: now that you said Gia, it rings a bell, so i think this is the song i am asking for |

so she is really singing:
"Den boro (xoris esena) Ke den zo (girna se mena) Tha xatho ( tha sou pethano) An den se do " This is NOTHING compared to what those girlies were screaming over the lyrics, and because of THEM i was also hearing 'moro' and 'sagapo' what does this mean anyway? OMG, she also sings "opa opa" ... this is GREAT! Who sings the original of 'Opa Opa'? |

Yeah, that's it. I'm checking the lyrics to see which part you heard as Deso - which doesn't mean anything in Greek

yeah I got it:
In free transation it means: I can't be without you And I can't live ( come back to me ) - can't live is the "deso" part I'll perish ( I'll die on you ) If I don't see you |

Opa Opa? Try Notis - Opa Opa
It's very similar to Antique, the Antique version is actually better. Dynata is by Eleftheria Arvanitaki. Try Yiannis Kotsiras - To Tsigaro, you may like that one as well, though it's more of a ballad. Can also try Anna Vissi for similar types of songs |
