Euro 2004

So? Anyone? ... It is now only 11 days until the first game ... anyone else as crazy about the tournament as me?

England and Netherlands are playing friendlies today - starting with their main lineups ... and the teams in our group are doing soooooo well esp Italy.

Of course I will be madly supporting Bulgaria, but in addition all Eastern European teams ! this time they arent that many LoL .. and I always go for Sweden (excuding their game against Bulgaria) and England ... am I yet to chose favourite outsider team. There is always one that does well.... ah ha... I hope this year it will be Bulgaria ....

so should we make predictions for the groups?

Well actually I don't even like soccer. Don't play, don't watch the usual national games on TV.

But when it comes to Euro and World tournaments, I'm always glued to the TV... I guess it's the good old "my country vs other countries" formula, never fails

I'm really excited this year cause it's gonna be in my country and I'm gonna live it all directly from where it's happening... So the news will all be about what's happening in my country, reporting live from my country, etc And besides that, there will be lots of blonde hotties coming to visit

Bad thing: the subway is gonna be so packed, I don't know how I'm gonna survive every morning making my way to school

Well, Portugal is in Group A (together with Spain, Greece and Russia - maybe tATu will come for a visit when Russia plays and make out on the field to distract the opponents ), and the 1st game will be easy - Portugal vs Spain. We'll get through the 1st stage. Now, the 2nd stage... That's harder. Especially with France, The Netherlands, Italy, Germany and even England...

Oh, and is it just me, or the last Euro had more countries in the competition than this one?

For an elaborate competition her office is organising, my mum has just called on me to predict the result of every single match in the tournament. The outcome of my deliberations is that France will beat Portugal in the final, winning by two goals to nil.

You heard it here first.

i'm excited too!
along with the olympics, that's the best sport event this year...

i agree with most of cool's predictions but with minor adjustments...
a portugal in front of spain...
b yep
c rrrrrright ... italy (unfortunatly), then sweden...
d holland instead of czechs...

that's just my (let's say "realistic") opinion.

i just hope france won't win it this year too! it would be like watching F1

hmm, really? see, even though Porto was doing so well in Europe this year, I still dont belive thats a reason for Portugal to be infront of Spain ...

well, when it comes to MY team i cant think realisticly ... so forget what everyones says.... there is ALWAYS one big BOOM at those championships, and this time it will be the: Italy NOT making it past the group stages

maybe... but i didn't base my opinion on this season. i like portugal's style of play, they're like european brazil and i put them in front of spain just because spain (usually) doesn't play well on major championships...

i wish! if there's one team that i really dislike, it's italy. they always seem to "get through" on some wierd way. don't get me wrong, i like their "serie a" and how they play but the national team is just too much for me

P.S. my apologies to the french and italian people but my posts were directed ONLY towards the national football teams

exactly

and crni, I think we should watch football together ... thats how i feel! about France and Italy ... in general i never like to go for the favourites, and those 2 always seem to be ones.... and agreed about Italy always advancing with thier catenaccio we wanna watch GOALS and not defender...goalie...defender...defender...back to goalie LoL

Last World Cup when France didnt make it past the group - ha ha, there was lots of celebrations!

Portugal - hmm, see, im weird like that - I never liked Brazil that much either. I'd always prefer the 'British Type' of football

Yep, here also...
But we really just hate the national football teams, not the French in general. It's just that team... And Italy is annoying too, YES!

well, the french team is really more like a Senegal Team (hope people dont take that the wrong way) so when Senegal beat them .. that was priceless !

On another note, England couldnt beat Japan in their friendly today!! England 1 : Japan 1

hihihi... and they played with their starter team for a while as well ... so, there is hope for Croatia
