As far as Yulia's mother goes.. I'm very happy to see that she is expressing how she feels and I agree with haku.. that's definitely going to help Yulia.

Now it is time to wipe away a tear. The way the girls comfort each other is remarkable. I can understand why Lena would feel bad about needing comfort from Yulia, but it's plain to see that Yulia had no problem with it and she understood.

Chapter 17, "Sleeping Alone", is up!

You know...it always blows my mind when you all tell me that something I have written has given you an intense emotional reaction, even to the point of tears at times.

I guess it's the insecure part of me acting up....it just surprises me that I'm actually able to tell the story well enough to get you to care that much for the characters.

I know I thank you all a lot for your posts, but I *do* indeed mean it. You have no idea how much your encouragement means to me.

Yulia has so much on her mind right now, but at least she knows that she's not entirely alone. If Lena had given up...... you know, I really don't want to think about that.

This chapter shows how Yulia can't just leave behind *everything* she's become during those years. She can't just go back to what she was seven years ago and resume from there.
Lena certainly understands that, but Yulia's parents won't accept that easily.

This fic is so overwhelming...Today i was listening to a ricardo arjona's song about a kidnapped girl and i was so affected by it because i was associating it with the fic and it was horrible.
And today i read the last two updates and i almost cried because you can feel everything! the despair in both girls...and i have never thought about the guys wanting lena too...that was terrible for me to write imaging all the posibles scenes if lena had been cuaght too---

And yulia...she cannot be all "normal" again...she's traumatized...and it's hard for people like her feel like they belong in some place...poor girl! i hope she and lena will help each other with ther pain...

*sleeping alone* is my fave chapter so far because it portraits so well yulia'despair. even if she does have lena on her side to help her , she remained all by herself to deal with her conscious..

Been trying to stay away so I can properly study for my nursing finals but this fic kept popping into my mind...so I just got caught up and I have to say, I felt so many emotions from those chapters. You have done a wonderful job with such a "touchy" subject but I knew you would and thats what keeps drawing me back!! Im glad I took a break and I hope its not to late to join in on the *group hug*

Awww, sure I'll join the group hug. *hugs everyone* This chapter was really intense...I'm glad you let us see this side of Yulia. I forgot to mention this, but awhile back when you wrote about how Yulia took out a glass, washed it, dried it, and put it in the exact same spot even though she was at her parents house...for me that *really* made me realize what extra precautions she had to have while growing up under that bastard. Really makes me think of what I take for granted, like just being able to walk around freely at my house at night without any worries. Can't wait for the next update Parrish.

Wow...that was really good symbolism with the colors Parrish. But if Yulia wouldn't have said that, I would've never caught on. Yeah, I always used sparknotes.com when I had to write *anything* about symbolism for English..that stuff just flies right under my nose. It's amazing how much Lena can understand, and more imortantly accept, Yulia for who she is and what she's going through. And kudos to Yulia's mom!!! I'm glad to see she's trying so hard to understand Yulia and her emotions. The pancakes were too cute.

A lot of emotions here again. We can see how difficult it is for Yulia to trust anyone, she doesn't even trust herself. She's a little overwhelmed by all the kindness around her, the poor girl is not used to that and she has a hard time believing it's genuine, even when it comes from Lena.

Fortunately Yulia and Lena share a deep bond. They are completely honest with each other, they are able to express their feelings whenever something is bothering them.
If that wasn't the case, i'm afraid things would eventually turn sour between them.
But they love each other so that won't happen.

and as far as the chapters go, i'm really happy that yulia has lena to depend on.
being in an emotional state like is hard and lena's ability to understand her best friend definately helps the situation a whole lot.

They sound like some of my friends in high school. I think some of the people at school really did think we'd bite them.*lol*

I don't like to judge a book by it's cover mainly because most of my friends were from the 'freak group' and we did some things we probably shouldn't have, but we never forced anyone to do anything they didn't want to do. It was cool if someone said they didn't want to take part.

I hope for Yulia's sake that she can stand on her own and make the right decision if things get out of hand. I also hope they aren't the pressuring kind. She wants to be accepted so much and sometimes that can skew a person's judgement.

The funny thing is, after I wrote that chapter, one of my old friends that I was basing Jayja's group on came into where I work. Mind you, I hadn't seen him in about 8 years!
