TRT investigating sound problems Turkish act

"TRT is aware of the technical problems which occured during the performance of the Turkish song which could be heard all over Europe," Berna Batmaz of TRT reacted to esctoday.com. After one minute, Gülseren's song Rimi rimi ley suddenly got mixed with the Moldovan entry Boonika bate toba during 25 seconds.

Swedish sound techs fucked it up again as they do every year. I think they'd be fired by that time.

Yeah about the error it was pretty obvious and affected the performance. They should bring the live music back, it can't be that hard and then such errors would be avoided ( and more would be created )

Oh there was so much plagiarism. The Belgian song sounded a lot like A La Manera by Julio Iglesias ( or whoever sung it before him ). The Portuguese chorus was the ending of Every Breath You Take. The Norwegian is an exact rip off of an older song but can't get my hands on what exactly - not Cum Feel The Noise, not exactly but close enough. Maybe another one as well, one for the verses and one for the chorus
My memory is failing but almost every song sounded like a rip off of something else.

Lets continue this thread by noting which Eurovision song reminded you of which song, i.e. "the Eurovision and plagiarism" thread.

1998 - Guildo Horn (Germany)
1999 - Lydia (Spain)
2000 - Nathalie Sorce (Belgium)
2001 - Piasek (Poland)
2002 - Michalis Rakintzis (Greece)
2003 - t.A.T.u. (Russia)
2004 - Sanda Ladosi (Romania)
2005 - Martin Vucic (FYR Macedonia)
The 2002 Greek entry was pure class

There's no way they bring it back. A sort of pity but I, personally don't care a lot.

Plagiarism - yep. I'll come tomorrow with 2 examples. The case was even taken up at EBU. It was so hallarious of swedes who had guts to blaim another countries of retro entries.

Yeah, maybe it's not called plagiarism but nostalgia.

Sweden's "nostalgia"

That for the verses and the key, any clue about the chorus? I have a sneaking suspicion it's from the Four Tops.

spyretto, that was a remote resemblance, it's difficult to apply plagiarism there.

Okay, here's the shot - Plagiarism inside Eurovision

Lisa Del Bo (Belgium 1996) and Friends (Sweden 2001).
(Original first and then Swedish plagiat)

Belgium has borrowed a few notes from ABBA in its turn (Angel Eyes + The Winner Takes It All)

Enjoy!

That was an easy one. When Friends (the group) won at Nationals in 2001, I said directly, it was Lisa Del Bo. After a week they had an official complain. EBU had the case, but the swedes got luckily out of troubles without any larger damage.

I didnt think Flemish sounds so much like swedish ... at least to me ... the only thing that let me know it's Flemish was the VON *needs more swedish practice to revive the knowledge* ...ok, maybe it sounds like Malmo swedish... or even danish... all those 'throat languages' i like lots hihi

oh, one more question, was the Belgium one a winner at least? Because if not, not only were the swedes dumb enough to copy it, but to copy a non-winner would be worse

She ended up as #17 or #19, I don't remember. Swedes made a better song out of it and finished as #5.

Okay, I was sitting and wonderring here with what swedes were thinking this year sending Las Vegas.
I think anyone of those 3 songs could do it a lot better. What do you think?

B-Boys International Ft. Paul M - One Step Closer
Cameron Cartio - Roma
Katarina & The Nameless - As If Tomorrow Will Never Come

How the *beep* did they manage to do that? But other than that the Swedish one is cool. I even have the Friends album somewhere around because of it

whaaaaaaaaaaa? obviously, me (the Balkan) and you (the scandinavians) dont agree on Eurovision songs - I could listen to the Belgium one before the swedish one, but both are so booooooooooooooooring!

thanks for links forre, will listen later and give my verdict, but it is kind of HARD not to be better tha 'Las Vegas'

forre, are those 3 of this years finalists?

ok, here is the verdict, its kind of easy to guess for me, no?

The Roma song by Cameron Cartio - Gypsyish song haha!

That Katrina one is way too Eurovisiony for me... but it is bearable

B-Boys - I dont really dislike it, but ... its a weird mixture between 'Buterfly' (that song some band was singing few years ago, forgot their name) + an 80s Super hit (cant decide exactly which 80s act they sound like, but I will figure it out after Ive had coffee hihi)

definitely all 3 would've been better than 'Las Vegas', but like i said, almost ANYTHING would be better than 'Las Vegas'
