So I was checking old threads and was absolutely shocked (riiiiiiiiiiiiight) to see that I created this thread so long ago. Many members have come and gone, some still remain, and we have new members. Yet I'm quite convinced everyone's tastes have changed over the years.

Maybe some of the members who didn't like anime back then have started liking it, and some of the members who loved it don't like it anymore. Added to that, there's loads and tons of new manga and anime to read and watch.

So? Share your likings! Any particular series you like, manga, anime, live action?

The studio Ghibli ones are probably the most artistically acclaimed but the action packed ones are also superb. I haven't seen anything I didn't like from the world of anime. A trillion times better than feature films in my opinion.

A friend of mine gave me a DVD with the first 4 episodes of Trigun, which is a well-known and very entertaining, western style anime. Waiting for the rest of the series.
I'd recommend Only Yesterday and Whisper of the Heart; those are very subtle ones made by studio Ghibli - but not Hayao Miyazaki's -, and they are my personal favourites from what I've seen so far.

Hentai? There's like seventy thousand different variations of hard core hentai to be known about... yuri (lesbian), yaoi (gay), just plain normal hentai, the widely explored genre of tentacle sex... And others. It depends. It can be mind-scarring, or just vaguely amusing.

spy, did you know? Studio Ghibli is releasing The Earthsea Stories under the name of Gedo Senki next year. I think it's produced by Miyazaki's son. What I've seen so far looks really promising. If you like Studio Ghibli's material, you should probably look out for it.

I've been watching some really good anime as of late (I need something to do besides obsessing myself over my damn musicals not arriving).

One is Angel Heart. It's the sequel to a series I didn't get to see, called City Hunter. The title's slightly corny for what the series really is. A girl without a name, whose code name is Glass Heart, has been trained to become an assassin ever since she was 5. At 15, after doing her 50th job, she kills herself because she doesn't want to kill any more people. But the company she works for doesn't allow her to die, and steals a heart that's aimed to be transplanted, to put it in her. The story gets more and more interesting as Glass Heart has flashbacks of the prior heart owner's life.

The other one is Kannazuki no Miko... which is just damn sweet because it's shoujo-ai (literally, love between girls).

I haven't finished watching either, but they both are pretty damn good!

I only watch the movie yet and loved it!!! It's awesome! The dancing scene with Utena and Anthy it was really cool.

I read the Death Note manga. It's so cool. I also know Nana and Read or Die. Nana is pretty cool and I want to see the Live Action of it.

I saw the first movie of GITS and the first season of the series... really awesome. Motoko looks like Konoko from ONI.
