I really like Buranovskie Babushki! Many of the participants of the 'Buranovskie Babushki' choir are well older than 70!
Don't remind me this catastrophe of an ESC selection. The whole competition was bullsh*t, not a single song worth for Eurovision, none even fairly good. From performance to performance you could only make the decision between embarassing and horrible. The few better known 'artists' came with the worst songs of their repertoire. At least some of them performed them decently, the rest was simply inferior.

It seems as if Russia's music business was burying itself after having battered it to ruins. Ironically the VGTRK (Allrussian State TV and Radio Company) mafia, who organized this bankruptcy of Russian showbiz, is the main culprit of the downfall of Russia's mainstream music scene. In that sense...

Tonight Greece and the UK decide - not sure about the UK, it depends what Pete Waterman has written, I just hope Greece don't send any song this year at all, they're THAT bad. That rock song is pathetic the rest are sung by people with horrible English accents and voices, and the ones sung in Greek are straight from a Greek taverna, only the plate smashing is missing to complete it. How many times do they have to be reminded that Greek folk is not taken seriously in Europe?

The german eurovision show is over now and Lena Meyer-Landrut, an 18 years old student, will represent germany in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010. Her final perfomance of her eurovision song "satellite":

Here is the German entry.I can't say I like it but it's still better than many songs this year.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Dudağımda yarım kalan söylenmemiş son sözümdür...
Baki olsa da ayrılık,
Aşk her daim ölümsüzdür...
Varsın eller gönül yarası kapanır sansın,
Kabuğun altında sevgili sen kanayansın...
Hehehe. With his face it has some androgynous qualities to it. Not to my liking, but I can see it.
Can't say his haircut is his biggest problem though.
UK entry. Don't worry folks, it's complete crap. We're still preparing for the 2012 Olympics, so we can't afford to win this.
They could send at least an ex-Blue soloist, or something that sounds ok.
Is is there a clear favourite out of all this mess of boring ballads and ethnopop? I personally liked Estonia
( quirky ballad with attitude ) Slovakia ( nicely done ) and Ireland - it's the best song they sent in years but singers are old so legs or cleavage no hope I'm afraid. Maybe Sweden too - not too sure about the song but singer's good. Turkey stands out straight away, it's not a ballad or ethnic and it's actually pretty good, they always send respectable ESC songs.
Nothing really in my taste of music, little variety, oh well, there's still France left to save the day.
Guy can't sing and has the charisma of a car accident. The song's itself not really that bad but they picked the worst act to represent it.
I like it a lot it's a worthy favourite - but I haven't heard all the entries in detail, Azerbaijan is instantly catchy.
Drip Drop is good but
If I put money on a song I'd go Turkey
and Turkey is 41 to win Eurovision, once they're through to the final they will be under 10, can back them now and hedge after. it's good value for money, for a very good song for ESC standards. Greece is among the favorites, well it's obvious the bookies are totally clueless. Greece sucks, in Greece they're comparing this song to shadow theater songs.
Who will vote for Germany to make it into the top 4? top 10 is the best they'll do. Ukraine's got a good ballad and they will get points too, Azerbaijan will be in the top 5 but won't win I think. Gotta take advantage of the betting odds.
Pop/rock is more universal that individual ethnic traditional trends, unless those are really something special and I don't think Greece is special, it's just an old formula. Alkaios has made better songs in his career than this but not for Eurovision standards of course.
Like this one:
Unlike Sakis I like the artist but not the song.
