Thumbs up Echoed and Luxxi!

Count me in! There's plenty of hatred in this world already, most of it fueled by political hot air from intolerant zealots. Magus104, don't take to heart the fact there are some people who can't stand circumspection. There are times when I'm not proud of the government of the U.S.A. myself, the present time being one of them.

Before anybody rushes in with a big flag to wave accompanied by a bunch of Republican Party propaganda, let me point out I'm not 12 years of age nor have I been since 1957. And unlike the "chicken hawks" in the present federal administration at Washington, who spout patriotism but have never worn the uniform, I served in the armed forces — in the Republic of Viet Nam during that ill-advised war.

I admire t.A.T.u. for wearing those anti-war shirts on The Tonight Show and for wearing the "censored" shirts on Jimmy Kimmel Live. I also respect Magus104 for not being afraid to speak from the heart regarding how the folly of censorship detracts from one's pride of place.

Having said all that, let me point out the dilemma presented by t.A.T.u. insofar as their stance against war is concerned. First, it's been obvious to me for many years that only those who are barking mad can think war is a good idea. People are killed and maimed in war, very many people. Being "for" war is akin to being "for" hunger, ignorance and pestilence.

However, wars are always instigated by political institutions — governments, if you will — for self-serving purposes which invariably make the rich richer and the poor poorer. (And who actually fights these wars?) Consequently, poltics and war are intertwined; so when anybody speaks out against war he or she is seen by the pro-war politicians as an obstacle to be eliminated.

So t.A.T.u., having courageously made anti-war statements, have injected themselves into a political scenario. I'm sure t.A.T.u. despise politics, as do all circumspect people; but it's impossible to divorce anti-war or pro-war sentiments from the political forces which engender such stances in the first place.

I agree that we must strive to avoid impeaching sincere expressions posted here by members, but — things being what they are these days — politics will rear its ugly head from time to time. It's unavoidable! Perhaps the best we can expect from members is that they keep political expressions free from personal attacks.

On the subject of being censored up the ass and having it hurt as well, have you heard about the guy in the US that was arrested in a mall for wearing an anti-war t-shirt.

I know malls aren't exactly public-owned property, but damn!
Guy, talk about having your freedom of expression revoked.

He was arrested for trespassing. He was trespassing becuase he refused to leave when mall security asked him to leave. A mall is private property, so they had the legal right to ask him to leave. He was asked to leave becuase he refused to take of the anti-war t-shirt (his sone took his off). He was asked to remove the t-shirt because that mall had a demonstration of 20 or more(?) people wearing the same t-shirt.

That all being said, it was still an overreaction on the part of mall security (or management) to get upset about this.

The reall irony (if I remember correctly) is he bought the t-shirt at that mall.

Huh?
Why would mall security care about what a couple of people were wearing if 20(+) people were wearing the same thing?

Hmmm...
Overreaction, indeed!

ETA: Thanks for clarifying Charles.

Hate Edge:" Russia is what America would be if we didnt stand up to terrorism and for ourselves"

Huh? What the hell do you mean by that?
Russia stands up against terrorism for a while now,( in Chechnia, for one thing,) while U.S. only woke up after sept 11.!

Thats just garbage!! i mean thats stupid, y cant we just have uncensored music(except for eminem) the only country that dosent censor is japan.
Actually Japan has very strict censorship on adult themes, porn is censored there, you can not see genitals of either sexes.
And some bad words in Japanese are so bad that you can't find them uncensored anywhere. Try saying manko to some Japanese tourist.

And many countries don't have strict censorships. You can turn on Finnish TV any time of the day, and see people swearing. Violence & porn has some limit, if I remember right it is that they should not be broadcasted before 9 pm.
And by the way, South Park the movie was rated K-12, means lower than PG-13. And they sure swear a lot in that. And the 4POP Taty interview where they swear and do crazy stuff was not censored, and was broadcasted 6 pm.

So just because USA has fucked up twisted morals, it doesn't mean that rest of the world has.

But I don't understand why Malchik Gey is censored, Russia doesn't have such censorship as Usa.
Or did they censor it themselves so it would sound "cool" or something. XD

Speaking of censorship.... Anybody seen Tinsel Town Series? They are made by BBC and you can see everything (man/woman, woman/woman, man/man) and some of it quite graphic. Anybody knows what time they were shown?
