In retrospect, I think these are the best albums of the year for me ( but only because I follow the artists or stumbled across them by chance )

Keane - Hopes and Fears ( apologies to the band for this mild error - thanks to fanoff )
Tatu - Dangerous And Moving
Shakira - Fijacion Oral 1
The Gathering - Sleepy Buildings
Mikro - 180 Degrees
Green Day - American Idiot
Paradise Lost - Paradise Lost
Zemfira - Vendetta
Mylene Farmer - Avant Que l'Ombre
Rammstein - Rosenrot

Awesome albums Mossopp. I'm going to see Senses Fail with Saves the Day later on this month. But I'm surprised that I don't see any MCR on your list, especially since you were raving about them last year.

People's tastes change. MCR are fast becoming mainstream sell-outs. I know that doesn't affect the quality of the music they have already recorded... but it just makes it somehow less appealing to me.
Although, having said that, I saw MCR live (for the third time) last month and they were pretty impressive.

That's true... It seems like a lot of the more recent bands people love to label 'emo' or 'scremo' in MCR's case, are turning to the dark side. Look at Fallout Boy... I hear 'Sugar We're Going Down Swing' on the fucking Pop radio stations. My 12 year old cousin runs around singing it constantly and she's in the boy band phase.

I'm going to see Fall Out Boy in January. I'm thinking about ditching though cos Bleeding Through are in town that night and they are way better. I don't fancy going to Fall Out Boy just to be stuck in a hall full of emo brats all night. I'd rather tough it out in the pit with the straightXedgers at Bleeding Through.
