A: I think some of it has to do with genetics. I think a group of genes pre-disposes a person to have homosexual traits. Then they are exposed to shifts ion hormone levels in their mothers womb and because of their genetic pre-disposition, they are gay. At least that's the clif-notes version

there has been a study on the correlation of hormones in males who claim to be gay and those who claim to be straight. those who are guy tend to have this trait on the Y chromosome that creates a tendency to be attract to other males. i'm not explaining it well. it's been awhile since i've read through the study and it's too late/early to be clear anyway. the point is, scientists have shown a correlation between this attraction to men in gay men. it doesn't mean all gay men have this trait, but there is a high correlation of ones that do. or a correlation significant enough to lift and eyebrow.

Interesting Lux. I've always heard that the trait is on the X chromosome. I don't think anyone will ever be able to pinpoint exactly what makes a person gay, straight, bi, queer or whatever a person wants to define their sexual orientation as. However, I do know that it certaintly isn't a learned behavior as some of the right wing fanatics would have us believe.
