Avril Ramona Lavigne (born September 27, 1984) is a Juno Award-winning, Grammy-nominated Canadian rock singer, songwriter, model, and occasional actress. She was originally known for her "skater" persona, but has since shed that image in favour of a more sophisticated and feminine style since about 2005 or 2006, although she has stated she is still a "rock chick" at heart.[citation needed] Her first two albums, Let Go (2002) and Under My Skin (2004), have topped charts in several countries. Her third album The Best Damn Thing (2007) is to be released in April 2007.[2]

Although her surname is of French origin, her name is usually pronounced in an anglicised way, somewhat as [ləˈviːn] ("La-veen"), rather than [laˈviːɲ]. Lavigne, or rather la vigne, which in French means the vine or the vineyard. Her first name, Avril, is French for April, but is also pronounced in an anglicised way as [ˈævrəl] ("Av-ril"), rather than [aˈvRil] ("A-vreel").

Lavigne is featured in Maxim magazine's Girls of Maxim gallery.[3] In 2006, she was included in Canadian Business Magazine's ranking of the most powerful Canadians in Hollywood, grabbing the seventh position. She has sold over 25 million albums worldwide.

It sounds a bit like Toni Basil's "Mickey" and contains the line "And hell yeah I'm the motherf*ckin' princess"

I can't make up my mind whether this is annoyingly catchy or just annoying.

I used to be a huuuge Avril fan, she only did two concerts in Holland but I've been to both. Now I feel like shit because I threw all the posters away haha. Damn, I remember why I liked her that much (A)

And Evan Taubenfeld is in the video! I really liked that guy and was pretty upset when she performed in Holland in 2004 and he was no longer a part of the band

Evan was awesome! He was the guy who made me doubt my homosexuality hahaha.

I miss old Avril, though. I like Under My Skin style a lot more. But I must admit the new single is really catchy. Now I can't take it off my head ._.
