You'll be like a nervous wreck tonight, spyretto...sweat dripping from your brow, screaming at the television...yes, you will. I will remain honourably neutral - I'll be glad to see either team win: like Freddie said, it's nice to see a bit of a change.

Go Greece!
Go Portugal!
Allez Amelie!
LOL, I think you're beginning to have delusions transcend...Was it Amelie's failure to beat Serena and then Sharapova making Serena seem so ordinary? That must have been a blow indeed.
Yes, obviously, I want Greece to win, I think it's not gonna happen for the reasons I explained above, I also think that Greece's success has something to do with the corruption of football - I was a bit disappointed to find out we're not gonna win, but I'm ok now,and as for the 100 pounds, it's not a sacrifice but an investment. I will be having that nervous breakdown only if we win. Cause that would be a shock to the system of my flawless predictions.

Got it now? And yes, I'm full of it coz I can see that the money those fools throw away to Greece will go to the bookies mouth - once again.

Goooo Portugal!!!

I know This is not exciting at all! I mean, the game against Holland wasn't particulary exciting either, but there were many good moments. But this 1st half was really boring. The most exciting game so far was Portugal vs England, without a doubt.

It was exciting to me, alright

That goal was soooo predictable. The Greek fans behind the goal were doing their usual goal-from-corner chanting routine.

I thought we played well, and even that dumber with the Barcelona banner didn't work out for them. I did bet 100 on Portugal but after the first half I put another 50 on Greece to win cause it was looking sooo ominous.

AMAZING, there's no word to describe it. Now this cup should be put to rest in Olympia next to the Olympic flame. Smashing stuff

Cheers everybody

Well, congratulations to Greece

Not for winning Euro 2004, but for winning this game. Because Portugal was indeed weaker. As Rui Costa said, "There's nothing to be said, it was our fault. When the Greek team attacked, we had 3 or 4 players down there. Whenever we attacked, the Greeks had mostly the entire team around." Yep. True.
And frankly speaking, if Portugal would play against the Czechs like they did today, we would have lost too. But we would have lost to the best team in the tournament, the Czech Republic, which was unfairly eliminated by some Lady Luck who helped Greece in the last seconds, after clearly having dominating the game both in defence and attack Sorry there, spy, but it's my opinion, and it's also everybody's opinion except Greece's fans and the other teams who lost with the Czechs

Anyway, I am very proud of my country, UEFA said this Euro was the best ever, with the best organization, stadiums and best security. Also, with the highest rating figures ever - which dropped after England, France and Germany were kicked out, but were still absolutely amazing and broke records. So, overall, a very good event for Portugal

Sempre Portugal.

The end.

I don't see it that way I think that Portugal actually put more pressure on Greece than the Czech Republic put on Greece, and as I said before the Czechs were lucky in all of their three opening games. Dominating a game doesn't mean you're gonna win it. They won 2-1, 3-2 and 2-1, all of them by the odd goal and being behind, even against Latvia. Their reputation as "best team" came after they beat Germany with their reserves, and made them seem bigger than they actually were.

I also think the best team against Greece was Spain, Spain REALLY dominated the game against Greece. But they were disappointing against Portugal, because, maybe, nobody wanted Portugal to go out from the first round.

As they say, "Everybody is entitled to theirs own opinion" staringelf

I rest my case

*smacks* But he played horribly! The bastard!
*hugs again* But you cried, you poor emotional boy!
*kicks in the balls* The Brazilian Ronaldo would make absolute monkeys of those stupid Greek defenders

Certainly will do, spyretto. And it would be churlish of me not to congratulate Greece (it was Zeus, definitely), commiserate with staringelf and Portugal, the gracious hosts - I didn't see the game (too busy practising my Andy Roddick-esque serve) so I don't know the ins and outs of who deserved to win, but sport's sport and the facts speak for themselves. On that silver Henri Delaunay trophy, tonight it says 2004: Greece...and that's all that matters.

I love sport.
