Well from the beginning my opinion didn't have anything to do with religion whatsoever. I think those two things are completely different. Homophobes turn down other people and hate them because of their sexuality, how stupid isn't that? If someone doesn't want to eat pork then so? They aren't putting down anyone else. I have many friends who don't eat pork and they don't say "Pork - ew! Disgusting! How can you eat that?! Oh my gosh I think I'm gonna puke by just looking at it!". If they said that, then I'd think they are stupid aswell for not letting people live their lives. That's what I meant.

you guys are missing the point here.
the point is:
ppl have a right to believe what they want and no one should criticise them for it! no one!

lena thinks that homosexuality is a sin.
others disagee.

guesshoo, I never said people aren't free to believe what they want. But I am also free to believe what I want, and I believe that if they should live such a life - hating people they don't even know, then.. wow! I hope they have a great life.

No. You are missing the point.
When people believe things that lead them to hate other people just because of what they are, then we have the right and the duty to criticize!

Maybe in a perfect world. But when people are rascist, homophobic, intolerant, sexist,... I believe if you're willing to believe in something, you're also willing to be criticized for it.

It's one of the worst things one can do, accept things as they are and never question them.

spyretto, no it wouldn't be okay.. but I meant, they don't like people because of their sexual orientation. If they knew them and really disliked them because of for example their personality then it wouldn't be as bad, you can't love everyone right...

sorry, but i gotta say something.
nobody said anything about hating anybody. does lena hate gays? i seriously doubt it. i can never and have never given any kind of justification for hating ppl. its not the christian way anyway and is considered a sin. so lets end the hate thing right here right now.

however what i am trying to justify is the freedom to believe whatever one chooses w/o being criticised or looked down upon for it. thats it. plain and simple.

ppl, this is thing that i would like to change in the world; the need for one human being to impose on another human what they believe. this is something i myself can never understand to even begin to agree with. if u don't like the color yellow and i do, whats the big deal? i like it and u don't, so what? has the world stop spinning? of course not!
therefore i say once again, believe what you want, and or nobody else has authority to question it.

ps. to end any further confusion, i believe in christianity and follow it but i do not consider myself a christian. simply b/c there are things i do that christians shouldn't. thank you.

now then back to the simpsons.

I agree, but there are some exceptions. For example, Hitler was an anti-semite. That was his belief. His belief was encapsulated in his actions, which resulted in the deaths of many Jews. What I'm trying to say is that your beliefs shouldn't harm people.

That's the whole point of what I've been saying. Belive what you want. Live and let live. I won't convince nobody. Let everybody come to their own conclusions. A person who is a homophobe or a racist is not worth my time anyway. I am wasting valuble time to change his prejudice, cause I know it's a near imposible task.

But to be a homophobe and racist is better than to have no opinion.

The same way as to be a robber and thief is better than to be a lazy bum sitting at home all day. The unopinionated lazy bum contributes nothing to society but the homophobic robber does.
