for those of you who listen to podcasts of the L Word (you can sign up for them at the iTunes store for FREE).. last week was Leisha Hailey's interview and she was talking about meeting with Ilene before the shooting of the season begins and where they go and Leisha took Ilene for a Bubble Tea and that Ilene didnt know what Bubble Tea was

how can you live in CA for so long and not know what it is... anyways, i thought of it because i just got a bubble tea YUM!

I downloaded episode 5 from http://www.xtvi.com/main.php?mode=show&id=12 and just watched it.

I'd really enjoyed episode 4 because it was so funny, particularly the basketball game. Episode 5 was moving in a soapy direction as people kept observing people cheating with other people. I hate the way seasons of The L Word always start out quite well, but then get overwhelmed with melodrama. It took until episode 11 in Season 1, but it happened by about episode 8 in season 2 and by something like episode 5 in season 2. This one is still staying reasonably light, but this episode seemed to be moving in a worrying direction where people are maybe soon going to start finding out that their partner is cheating on them, leading to lots of angst. The L Word doesn't do angst well, it should stay light and fluffy, like a soufflé.

I did like the whole Jenny plot line, though. It's fun that Ilene Chaiken seems to have given up on making the audience like Jenny and they're instead playing up what an evil nutcase she is. This is great because, like when she played Mandy in 24, Mia Kirschner is excellent at looking so impossibly innocent when she's being wicked.

i agree with simon. l word should remain light. its at its best when its not drowning in melodramatic lesbian soap antic stuff. and you can so see the drama coming a mile away with alice dumping phyllis, the manny cheatin' on kit etc etc etc.

yeah jenny is a total nut ! i loved the exchange between her and alice and monet though haha

alice is definitely at her best this season.

I loved that exchange too, it was the best thing in the episode. Alice gets some great lines. She's always been my favourite, but she now seems to be the only really likeable character left.

lets see, i saw episode 5 with my buddies - yes, i have managed to get couple more staight people to become fans of the show...anyways - it was GOOD! L word has gotten so much better and funnier, thank god!

Alice was great and that scene she had with Jenny was priceless!

I also really enjoyed the scene with Jenny and the vagina's girlfriend

I am glad to say that jenny is back to being very likable for me
The bad thing is that the girl they are pairing shane with (the terminator chick) is kinda annoying for me.... booo
Papi is also funny

oh yeah, here is how great and funny Jenny is, fav like:
Alice: do you know who makes this hat by the way?
Jenny: who
Alice: do you know?
Jenny: no, who?
Alice: you dont know!
Jenny: I would guess the lead singer of the Village People

I love jenny and alice together! fun times
oh and by the way i love how you can totally see how tiny jenny is compared to alice

also to tainted_chick, remember how you were asking of where you should go while in LA and i suggested the Here Launge, well if you dont wanna listen to me, listen to Alice and Shane and Jenny, cause you can see they also party in Here LoL. but really, L word has really been current of whats in for lez girls, and esp in CA and LA and the truth is that right now Here is the place to be if you are a gay girl in LA

and watching the episode, they either really filmed in Here or someone did a great job of building the set because it is JUST like that.... you see the bar on which the bartenders dance/strip during friday nights... and you also see the outside pario with the big red couches where people hang out and smoke (tasha and alice were hanging out there)

haha cools glad to see youre still up on the Lword

much to my surprise im actually loving this season although you can imagine how pissed i was when i found out sarah shahi wouldnt be back and replaced by papi pffffftt that rica sueve crap is played out

shes prob the only new char i dont like so far. otherwise im loving this season especially Alice and her comics

but seriously though..where the hell are the asian dykes?

oh well prides coming up maybe ilene will come again and we can demand some asianess
