Well, I have hope that will win the match with Russia
Spain was better than Portugal, that's true... but I think that with new strategy and more training we can do it. Scolari said in press conference that the 1st thing he was going to do was watch the game between Spain and Russia to see what other changes he could do for next Wednesday! Let's see if we don't blow it this time! Tomorrow is France vs England... I bet France is gonna win and the english fans are gonna start a huge fight Or even if England wins, they're gonna start a fight for whatever reason Oh, and Switzerland vs Croatia... good luck, crni! I heard in the news that Croatia is a surprise and will beat Switzerland... let's see |

I'm supporting France against England tomorrow (probably) - I've supported France off and on (mostly on) since I was 10 years old. There's a dark side to English nationalism which disturbs me, and I find it hard to embrace the England football squad. At work last night, you had people shouting "Fucking French Wankers!" and "I hate those fucking French bastards!" (probably partly to needle me) - it's not big and it's not clever. I have got to go to work tomorrow night and I am in a no-win situation. We are allowed to take the two hours off for the duration of the match - most people will no doubt go to the pub to watch it, which means they'll be half-drunk by the time they get back to work. If England win, I'll have people in my face all night; if France win, they'll be bitter and might turn nasty...Let's just say I'm steeling myself for the worst...Royal Mail can be a pretty uncomfortable workplace sometimes; if you are not a white male who plays football, drinks, owns a huge porn collection and thinks all this country's problems are down to immigrants...

yeah that sucks...those Brits are too jealous...sorry, correction: those English, coz, unfortumately, Wales is not in the finals.
Draw it will be then I'm sorry for you transcend. Dealing with unpleasant people in the workplace is not a good experience. |

I can't belive Portugal lost. This is ridiculous. They were my favourites this year. European Brazilians. Sheesh. I highly doubt they'll make it pass group stage now. And Figo is apparently beyond his best years by now. Real Madrid sucked the life out of him. Greeks are better then I thought though. Solid defending definitely.
Russia, Spain was no surprise really. A well earned victory. Spaniards had the upper hand throughout the match. I was a little disapointed by Raul though. They should get even better during the next few games. I'll be happy for anyone who wins the championship though. As long as it's not Germany or France. No offence to German & French folks. Predictions for today: Switzerland - Croatia = Croatia is the favourite, but don't underestimate the Swiss. No Tudor for Croatia though. And the main goalkeeper is missing. That could be quite crucial. France - England = Sadly France. England proved time and time again they were just not meant to be succesful at major championships. Murphy's laws I guess. :/ British media once again proved to be as idiotic as it gets with their quasi-proclamations of war against France and everything French. Sheesh. Give me a break. I can allready see all the partiotic Brits smashing their Renaults, Peugeots & Citroens. |

damn! our game was so lame
nothing to say really... we had no real chances and our strikers sucked big time the referee criteria was (once again) awfull and very variable... and i didn't say biased, just wierd... no tudor and pletikosa had absolutely no influence in this game so we can't take that as an excuse. as for france - england, i just hope france won't win |

crni, it was expected more of Croatia, and the game was pretty 'stable', it was kind of a deception, but still, you didn't lose and will have more to show in the next game
Now, for some bad news. Starring the english fans, of course CONFRONTATIONS HAVE STARTED English fans ruin portuguese celebrations Last night english troublemakers gathered in the main square of Lisbon, Rossio, and attacked the members of a marching band which were going back home on a bus, after competing for the best march in the 72th annual Popular Parades. English fans throwed pepper spray onto the bus in which teenagers and small children were travelling, and caused breathing problems to several people. After the incident, confrontations started between the english and the portuguese. The police arrested several english, one of them will be taken to court. The members of the marching band were then transported back to their neighbourhood and several ambulances were called. "It was a big mess, people started running, screaming, rubbing their eyes, there were bottles thrown, it was a mess!", Pascal Combefreyroux, a french fan, said. On the other hand, the english fan Michael Gallaway said people started to get scared only because the portuguese police had loaded weapons. MORE DISTURBANCES EXPECTED Tonight is the big game between France and England. The portuguese police has set up their biggest security operation ever to prevent further disturbances. Many english fans spent the afternoon getting drunk at the local bars near Estadio da Luz where the match will take place, and if England loses, major confrontations are expected. Besides all this, the portuguese police has also been informed by the british police that there are chances that several dangerous english hooligans might have managed to fly to Lisbon. IF THE MESS CONTINUES, ENGLAND MIGHT GET KICKED OFF An UEFA spokesman announced that if the english supporters continue to cause trouble and disturbances in the european championship, they suffer the risk of UEFA denying the participation of England in the next Euro. source: Público (portuguese newspaper) |

ht 1-0 to England.
Can't hear a single cheer here in Wales, just a dog barking in the distance. Still hoping France can turn it round somehow. |
