If this is going to be a single, it shouldn't have been the first one. But it's not bad. In general, I like the direction Lena is going in musically. Just not professionally.

The thing with Lena's accent is that it is now very good and it is easy to forget that she is not a native English speaker. When you allow for the fact that she is probably still mentally translating esp. when she if put under stress it is understandable that she will sometimes sound a little unsure, or even false when she speaks. When you allow for that Lena generally comes across as pretty sincere, albeit her natural reserve still shows.
Personally I really like the song (esp once I got round to listing to it on proper speakers and not the tinny PC speakers  ). It comes across as a very good main stream song, and I'm glad they have avoided the current fashion to over process her voice. And it it good to at last get another full song at decentish (albiet FM radio) quality.For me some of the other songs, esp Stay, are maybe more interesting musically, but when you are looking to promote a new artist, sometimes mainstream can have a better chance to get decent airplay. I was pleased to see it got some decent airplay yesterday - not just a play once and forget, which suggests it got a decent reception. Hopefully they can use any success they get in Mexico to make it a better sell to radio stations in the bigger markets. Quote:

Oh, maybe her boyfriend is Sash Kuzma then - Slovenian former band mate of Sven Martin. Kuzma is still good friends with the Sven company, he is friends with Olga Matveeva on facebook... so he is from L.A., he is a singer/music producer and he spent some time with Lena in the past - might be a big guess, but maybe I'm right
Kuzma's song "Today is your day" is a single by Slovenian band Jelen and guess who's one of the band members? Right, Roman Ratej - former t.A.T.u. drummer. We hear that Lena can sing better/different now. That the song was a dedication to Yulia - sounds way too cheesy to me, even if Lena means it, but c'mon, what a PR thingie this is, too. Surprised that so many people really seem to like it. To compare the sound with "Within Temptation" is a bit ridiculous... |

I know I probably just sound like another cliche Lenalover but OMG I LOVE IT! So beautiful! My only complaint is that it sounds so much like So Not Cool. I really hope this single does well!

Definite photoshop over run but I think they are definitely gorgeous. And uh, commercially appealing/acceptable? I'm sure there's a smarter term for that which I can't think of..
It's not like she's photo edited beyond recognition, thankfully. They just made her look more artsy and painting-like. Edit: Also.... She's just doing us a favor, actually. Yulia does not exist anymore -- it's just something that doesn't even look like her. Another person, another voice, just not the same. About time YULIA is getting a proper burial.
