Rule number one - provide the source and the author if available.
Rule number two - if a file is put on the server with limited bandwidth and the person who hosts the file asks not to give the link out, it means that only limited number of users have the access because of the actual costs the traffic may cause, thus no direct linkage is allowed.
I think it's a very basic and a simple rule to follow. We encourage people to provide links and pay certain respect to the source if it appears on this forum too.
