Erm, as an openly gay women and amature Drag King, do I feel that The L Word represent Lesbians? No. But it's not supposed too. Just like other shows don't represent the rest of the world. Its for the entertainment of the viewers. Ilene Chaiken, the lesbian producer of the show, explained that it would be impossible for any show to "Represent" such a large and diverse group of women. She steped away form that and made her main focus dealing with what was true for the women on the show.
