This performance was deffinately not new territory for madonna. if anything she paved the way for all the artists after her that have flirted with the idea. she's been doing it in her live shows for years. in fact she didn't do a dissimilar performance at the vma's in 1993 only this time the song was much better and rather than backing singers and dancers she had Xtina and Britney! I thought it rocked!! Xtina and Britney made perfect jelous brides!!
I think the difference with what tatu have done is that they've taken it beyond being purely sexual, and brought the element of love, emotion and 'partnership' into it. not just a sexy stage show. so in that sense they've made it their own, and I guess moved it on.
