Yes, Nataku, you have to buy the game. Truth to be told, you also have to pay 13 dollars a month and one more dollar p/character you hold in the game. It's a game without ending, held by servers so that if your connection burps or the light goes out, you don't lose your items. It's a fantastic game, actually, since it doesn't have an end, you can go away and know without much anxiousness that your friends in the game (because since it's a massive multiplayer online, it also has chat modes) will be there and you'll have fun AMONGST your friends.
